Amelia River Golf Club
Amelia River Golf Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Excellent venue and enjoyable course
Best value and challenge on Amelia Island. Course in excellent shape and golf now booking the easiest to use. Courteous staff and very glad you chose to play ARGC. I will be back soon.
Perfectly delightful day
From the greeting at the bag drop to returning the cart, this was an excellent day. On checking in, the pro came from behind the counter - "Let me just make sure there are balls on the range."
"Coach", the starter asked if we'd like to hit balls or go to the first tee to be in front of a 4 teeing off shortly. A maintenance worker tossed us a few balls he found while trimming around a pond.
It was all the same. Service, smiles, support. Great day.
Very nice course in a tourist area. Often high traffic courses are in bad shape. Amelia River was very well maintained.
Driving range hitting area is horrible. It was like hitting in the rough. The greens were slow but fair. Most breaks were right at the cup so playing true lines work well. Keep it in the fairway and you will score well. Easy to lose balls if you are in trouble off the tee.
Tee boxes and fairways were very good. I played the ball down the entire round with no bad lies in the fairways. The greens had been plugged recently so putting was a bit challenging. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free range balls to help get loose before hitting the course. Challenging layout requiring some shot planning to set up the next shot. No issues with insects at all. Recommend this course.
Excellent as awlays
Can’t say enough about this course. This was our 2nd time playing there and it was as good as the first. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and free range balls is always a plus. Only knock was the greens had just been punched so not rolling the best for obvious reasons. Give it a couple weeks and it will be perfect for some fall golf!
Great day of golf
The course was in excellent shape. Thankfully the sky was overcast so the heat wasn't terrible. In fact there was a nice breeze to start the day, but when it eased up the gnats came out. Free range balls was a nice surprise (been a while since I had played there so maybe I had just forgotten that perk.) Great value for a hot deal! Lucked out with a nice July day with no rain washout.
