Montrose Golf Links - Broomfield Course
About
The Broomfield Course is maintained to the same high standards as Montrose Links' other 18-hole golf course - the Medal Course.
Originally a nine-hole course, Broomfield was extended to 18 holes in 1915. Because of the flat nature of the golf course, walking is easy, making it ideal for parties looking to play 36 holes in a day or to perfect your game before taking on the challenge of the Medal Course in the afternoon.
Measuring 4,800 yards, the Broomfield Course does not require long carries from the tee, but accurate approach shots are a must to find the small greens.

ClubhouseReviews
Our first time playing in Montrose and this was a real bonus find. We played the short course and with the wind (obviously) made it tricky but extremely good fun. All the staff were super friendly and extremely helpful even back in the club house for a nice warming pint afterwards.
Course
Played course a few times and enjoy it each time .
They have extended the 9th too a par 4
271yards nice challenge would recomend it
Easy walking course
Times readily available. Flat course easy walking. Got round in 2 1/2 hours. Ideal for a quick round.
Baked Fairways
Unfortunately a poor experience on the course. Fairways baked solid, virtually no grass on them. Greens also very ropey , seem to have been slit or tined, and haven’t had a chance to fully recover. I know it’s been very dry in Angus, and that probably excuses the condition of the fairways but they really should have kept the greens in better condition.
Greens!
Will be, I'm sure much, better when the grass starts growing. The yellow broom set it all off scenic wise though. A great day!
Great wee course
Played on a mild day, great wee course well setup for winter, normal greens. Shirt par4s but a good winter loosened at a great price
Course
Absolute gem of a course great condition greens are good . Bit of work getting done around the course to improve it even more. Well done guys
Poor fairways
Played this course numerous times but never seen it in this condition. No grass on the fairways and they look burnt and diseased.
Pity nice course but condition not good.
Sunny round of golf
Big improvement and more interesting and enjoyable on proper greens
Good example of Links Conditions
we played here as part of the hole way round, fantastic condition for so late in the season.
some difficult par 3s balance by some easy par 4's, however with the wind anything can change in the matter of minutes.
pro shop staff very friendly and helpful
one not to be missed

Good course
Good course, not overly challenging but if your just out for a friendly game with friends or by yourself then this place is prefect. Staff are friendly and willing to help, good sale ongoing at pro shop, definitely worth a visit.
First time
Played course for first time small course excellent for beginners or high handicappers.
Grand day out
I don’t get taken out often for a game with the hubby. His membership course is a bit of a challenge. The broomy at Montrose was an excellent compromise. Suited the novice (me) or someone looking to study club selection without pressure (him). Nice.
