About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

Slow, slow play
I thought I could finish a round with a 12:30 tee time,, but nope. We had some inconsiderate groups in front of us who thought they were the only ones on the course. I give kudos to Mike (ranger) who did his best to hurry the groups along, but with a league starting at 4:45 we were booted of the course and couldn’t finish playing the round. We were on the 18th tee box by 4:45, I don’t know why we couldn’t have teed off before the league’s shotgun start. There were two of us playing and we could have finished the 18th in 8-10 minutes at the most. Mike did offer us drinks at the end and was very apologetic. It’s a great course and will play again.
One of my favorite tracks. Greens were lightning fast!
Great layout but not much else
The pace of play was horrendous. 3:15 to play 9 holes. Everyone in our group quit after 9 even though we all had paid for 18. I won't ever play here again unless it is for a tournament. Snack bar had a decent beer selection, but was not stocked well on chips. This is a very good layout and should be a fun course to play but that was not our experience. Proshop staff was good. We played the 3 practice holes and should have just kept going around that track. only think missing there was yardages but it didn't impact the fun.
Always a good course to play
For the second time in a row, the course staff wasn't up to snuff on handling my Golf Now reservation. Oddly, the only course I have had issues with. I showed them my confirmation and prepayment and all was good. Course is a little beat up this spring, but plays well. Great layout. Quick round on a Wednesday afternoon. Always a pleasure to play Washington County.
Good course
Greens where in rough shape on some of the holes. Tee boxes and greens were very nice.
Coming back
Excellent condition,well maintained throughout will be frustrating for 1st time players on a few holes. That's why I'm definitely coming back. If you're a boozer not your course ( no hard stuff here) only beer and claws for you guys that lay up. Loved that the carts were electric.
