Washington County Golf Course
About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

Great course
The course is great and greens are very nice and fast. Would love to visit again soon…
Unbelievable day! Great course because of the staff.
I have a friend that has always told me to play this great course. Today was the day. Tee time for 1:20 pm. I arrived 25 minutes early to check in. A middle aged man was starting to check me in and had to answer the phone. A really cool young man took over and was he incredible! He invited me outside to give an overview of the course. Once outside he was inundated with people saying hi and wishing him well in a upcoming event. I explained even at sixty I play the blues and am a 5-6 handy cap from there, but been having some back issues. He recommended I play from the white tees and paired me up with an extremely nice young man(33 years old). Had a great round on a great course! Here’s the crux of the day! After the round, I offered to buy my playing partner a cold beverage and he excepted. We went inside and bought one drink and the nice lady working offered us some free snacks . We talked and exchanged information for future play dates and we we left. Once in the parking lot I realized I locked my keys in the truck and my hide a key had fallen off the vehicle. I went back inside and there was a very young man (17-20) now in the pro-shop. Talk about a difference in character from earlier. I explained that I live 50 miles away and if I could borrow a piece of wire , or if he had a metal hanger I could have to unlock my vehicle. He basically told me to pound sand. I noticed that there was six fly swatters on door handles behind the counter and asked if I could use one of those and would pay for it! Again… told me to pound sand (was quite an obnoxious little dude)! So then I went back to the nice lady in the food/drink area and asked her if she had any of the above? With a beautiful smile, she said she could do better than that, and called the non-emergency Washington County dispatch center. Asked for a deputy to come and assist me. I was so grateful for her kindness and the deputy that came. We talked while he unlocked my truck. I was very impressed since I spent thirty years in public service that Washington County still provided such a wonderful service to people. I felt quite guilty that I’m not even a resident of Washington County and receiving such great service! In conclusion… never give up believing that their are truly good people in this world that do the right thing, just because it’s the right thing. Thank you!
Another great Arthur Hills design!
Really enjoyed our early morning round on this hidden gem!
Nice course
Great course which provides enough challenges but fun to play. Course in great shape. Especially loved the practice facilities and the complimentary practice balls.
Great Muni Course!
No wonder this is the #1 muni in WI...challenging course and beautiful condition. Pace of play was the only thing that was not ideal...waiting on the group ahead of us and getting pressured and hit into consistently from behind.
Very accomadating staff
I purchased a tee time for 6:40 on GN. I thought it was for AM but when I arrived at the course I noticed on the confirming email it was for 6:40 PM. 2 other guys in my party were on their way to the course to play as well. I explained the situation to the gentlemen in the Pro Shop. and he allowed us to play the round at 6:50 AM even though they didn't open until 7:00 AM and it was a PM tee time. We appreciate the understanding and kind accommodations to allow us to play the round.
