The course was very disappointing. I had played 3 other courses on Arran during the week all of which were in much better condition. There were few numbered tee markers and if you had not played the course before it would have been easy to get lost. We had to wait frequently to allow walkers to get out of range seemingly oblivious of the fact it was a golf course. Tees were in a terrible condition as was signage throughout.
In comparison to Whiting Bay, Corrie and Shiskine it was a thoroughly disappointing experience and one that personally I will never repeat!
Amazing
Learnt how to play on this course when I was on my holidays with my dad and grandad. Need to get back up from wales and play here again
Arrived in time to tee off at my pre booked time no one in either the club house or the pro shop. Had to wait until 12 lady members had teed off before starting
Good for most levels
My wife and I play Brodick a couple of times a year when we have our week on Arran and it works for both of us with my wife being a holiday golfer and I’m out two to three times a week.
This year my daughter and her partner joined us and he golfs fairly regularly but it was my daughter’s third round of golf ever, and her first time on a real 18 hole course.
Both loved it.
Ok so playing over the river proved to be a bit of a challenge but most of the holes can be played by a beginner or holiday golfer without them getting into too much trouble, and at the same time giving a decent round to the better golfer.
They also loved the views and the whole ambience of the place and it was relatively quiet so they weren’t put under any pressure.
Fine day
Have played Brodick many years ago and was looking forward to playing it again as it has some great par 3’s , greens where in good condition just a wee bit slow but overall where where ok , nice flat layout and an easy 3hours to go round
Disappointed
Sadly disappointed with the effortless welcome, I think we disturbed the American lady who was the only person in the golf shop!
The course had a lot of GUR, probably more should have been marked up as GUR. I have seen courses in a lot better condition!
The outward 9 was better than the inward. Walkers, cyclists and other course disturbance had a negative impact on the flow of the game, some holes with walk backs from the green to next tee did impact the general flow of play, this would be a significant issue if the course was busy.
Not the most challenging course, if you could removed external disruption, we possibly had a busy day with non golf persons with no awareness of being on a golf course!
Gret setting
This is is my fifth time playing Brodick. Always enjoy the course as it is in a lovely area with a great view of Goatfell and also of the sea. They had golf scooters instead of buggies this time and it was a great laugh. Worth trying if youve never done it before.
Best island course
If you want to play serious golf rather than crazy golf, this is the one.
Relatively flat, with good views, few blind shots and excellent greens.
A challenge
From the 1st tee all holes appeared ‘difficult’ but enjoyable to play
A bit wet but worth a visit!
There had been 12 hours of rain so there was a lot of lying water on the course.
Green were excellent in spite of that but fairways very wet!
Well worth a visit and a great holiday course!
Holiday golf
An easy flat walk. We had the course (4 ball) almost to ourselves. Some tight holes and a couple of tricky short par 3s over water. There are a lot of non golfers walking round the outskirts of the course which can be a bit off-putting, other than that this is an enjoyable holiday golf course.
