Alloa Golf Club
About
Golf course architect James Braid designed a 6,266-yard par 71 course on the 150 acres of rolling parkland beneath the Ochil Hills that are Alloa Golf Club's home. A test for even the most seasoned golfer, Alloa also accommodates high handicappers.
All golfers will enjoy the final four holes: two long par 3s split by two long and extremely challenging par 4s. Make sure to keep an eye out for the ditch in front of the 17^th green.
Alloa Golf Club dates back to 1935. It was built on the estate of Schawpark House. One of the most influential families in medieval Scotland, the Schaws were governors of Stirling Castle until the reign of James IV.
Facilities at the club include a locker room, snooker and a dining room with a lounge bar and large flat screen television. There are also several practice areas.

Alloa golf course
First time playing this course. Started off with a really nice looking hole which set up the day. First green was really soggy but that was the only one. The rest of the greens were in great condition for the time of year as was the whole course. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment on them. Views around the course were beautiful. Will definitely be back but probably try to do so in the height of summer months.

I play the first 6 holes as it was raining bad the greens all started to flood so walked off spoke to the pro in shop he said it up to green keepers to close course but we could not putt on the greens hope to get round again as had men from work over on a 4 ball
A round at alloa golf course
Gteat course freindly helpful staff and great course layout will be back very soon
Course in great condition
I've played this course in a number of weather conditions and I've enjoyed it every time. The weather was ideal on Wednesday and the course was in great condition. The greens played true and there was a nice wee bit of speed on them. I'll definitely be back.
Lovely course in great condition, greens were excellent. A good test for golfers of all ability levels with fantastic views along the way, I'd definitely recommend a game here and look forward to playing it again
Great golf experience
This course offers a great challenge with immaculate fairways and well kept greens offering fantastic value for money. Some areas tend to become a tad soft after heavy rain but this isn’t unusual in a parkland course. The views on to the Ochil Hills is fabulous and the architecture and layout is interesting. Friendly clubhouse staff, good food and well stocked pro shop a bonus. Recommended.
Great
Course is in fantastic condition excellent greens, all round great day. We will be back

enjoy playing at alloa golf course. I will be back!!
Great Course
Every time i play this course, I like it even better! You need to be able to slice, draw, straight with your shots! The greens were in magnificent condition and all credit to the green keeping team!! Keep it up! When guys play golf, the greens are the No 1 element.... It would be helpful if we had some facility for food, drinks, like some other clubs are doing. I dont know how you are coping with the reduced revenue, however, BBQ, beers in ice, etc if clubhouse not open. In summary, great course, even in the rain!
DID NOT HAVE TIME TO PLAY IN A FOURBALL
HAVING PLAYED THE COURSE RECENTLY A FEW TIMES I RATE IT HIGHLY AS A PLACE TO ENJOY A LOVELY COURSE IN A PEACEFUL SCENIC SETTING. THE COURSE IS ALWAYS IN GREAT CONDITION .
UNFORTUNATELY THIS TIME DUE TO PRIOR COMMITMENTS I ONLY HAD 2 1/2 HOURS AVAILABLE SO WHEN I TURNED UP TO PLAY A QUICK ROUND I WAS UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN A FOURBALL GAME WITH 3 OTHER GOLF NOW PEOPLE WHO HAD BOOKED THE SAME TIME.
Course features
Lay out of the course is excellent with great views. Well maintained neat and tidy. Greens and tees in excellent condition. Good amount of various shaped and depths of bunkers, but could do with a little more sand in them.
Give this course a try
Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Great range of holes that were playable yet still challenging. Great price for round. Other golfers (members) very helpful, welcoming and friendly As was the pro in the shop. Felt relaxed and not under pressure or judgemental eyes (just resumed golfing after many years hiatus) and this reflected in my play. Also shared my round with another lone visiting golfer who has recently dusted off his clubs again to resume his golfing career and was a pleasure to share the round with him. Left feeling happy after a great day out. Will definitely be goin back, thank you Alloa golf club!
Excellent as always
Challenging but very enjoyable. Lots of interesting holes with many greens not visible from the tee
Tricky blinds
A warm welcome awaits visitors at the well stocked Alloa pro-shop , which has everything you need to make your round enjoyable.
The course itself is tree lined , which offers lots of protection from any stray golf balls as well as adding features with varying elements of difficulty. There is a lot of blind approach shots to small greens which again adds difficulty and would definitely be an advantage having local knowledge or by purchasing a strokesaver at the local pro-shop which I'd strongly recommend
The condition of the course was good but the greens were a little soft after the heavy rain the day before . There were no problems with casual water on any other parts of the course , so it seems that it's only the greens that hold the water after heavy rain, like most parkland courses i guess.
After our enjoyable round , we were looking forward to an evening meal but due to covid19 restrictions we were unfortunately told that meals finish at 1600 on a Saturday in such times .So we can't comment on the clubhouse hospitality.
I would definitely recommend to anyone to have a go at the challenges that Alloa golf course presents and I will definitely return.
Shawpark.
Too many blind holes spoiled the day that said course was in good condition and well kept staff we spoke too were very nice courteous and helpful
