The Naemoor at Muckhart Golf Club
About
The Naemoor Course is the latest of the three courses to be built at the Muckhart Golf Club and offers nine different challenges with no two holes running in the same direction.
Muckhart Golf Club has 27 holes comprising three courses of 18 holes on a rotating basis. The Naemoor Course measures 3,205 yards from the back tees. Par is 35.
The third and ninth holes are considered Naemoor's signature holes. No. 3 is a long par 3 to a plateau green. It demands an accurate drive and some careful putting on a sloping green. No. 9 is a par 4 where a good straight drive rewards golfers with a challenging second shot to the green below, with the Ochil Hills providing a stunning backdrop.

Nice Surprise
Played after days of rain but the course was in a really good condition and not heavy underfoot. Forward tees in December but full greens and no mats. Stayed for soup and a sandwich after a really enjoyable day golfing. I'll definitely be back next year.
Great during winter
Definitely recommend playing if you are looking for normal golf experience during winter. No winter greens and original greens are kept in great condition. Fairways good as well, hard to see this time of year. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in summer, views are exceptional and some holes very interesting. Some greens are surrounded by trees which gives a really magical feeling.
Lovely course in good condition for time of year
Very friendly welcome at the Pro Shop. Took the time to come outside and point me in the right direction. Explained conditions of the course and told me what to look out for. Course itself was in good condition (considering the amount of rain recently) and was a very interesting and not too difficult a track. Best recommendation I can give is that I will definitely be back.
Good course in beautiful setting - course was wet but still playable, greens were cored and sanded but given it was November was pretty good.
Couple of negatives - temporary tees were not level which made driving difficult and the speed of play was very slow - three members held up the whole course and would not let us through.
Overall enjoyed course and will look to come back in the summer.
Muckart review
Played here a few times but not recently. The scenery is stunning and the course provides many holes to take on with good birdie chances. The only disappointment was the state of the greens which were the worst I have played on in many a year. This was partly down to many of them having been cored and not filled with sand and rolled in many areas.
STAY AWAY
Played Muckhart on 16th Oct 2020, what an absolute midden, greens were cored and without doubt the worst attempt at coring Iv ever seen in my life an utter disgrace, the front 9 can only be described as a junior 9 it was shocking and that was without bringing the greens to the table, Pro told us “it looks hilly but it’s no” pure lies one of the hilliest courses I’ve ever played, all in all stay well clear of this dump!!
Course features
1st time playing the course, excellent day, would definitely play again
Hillside views
Very well looked after course with good drainage. Your given a rake at the start of your round to keep the bunkers in play. We played 18 of the 27 available. Rough can be unforgiviing, there's a few hill climbs and the greens are testing, but that all adds to the fun.
Sunday 27th September
There was an open Texas scramble and we were booked to play on the same day without prior warning. Play was extremely slow and the course very busy.
Would have avoided it if we had been warned.
Once again lived up to expectation
Playing here regularly as it’s a great course with the choice of 3 different 9 holes all in great condition.
Half good, half bad
Our front nine was the Naemoor set of holes, which were fantastic, not much more needs said.
However, after the turn we played the Cowden nine, which are a significant downward shift in quality.
It feels as though a few holes are shoehorned into a limited space. This means blind tee shots and approached to greens with signs such as "if you can hit past the bell wait until the green clears' even though you can't see the bell, and also it was our first time playing!
There are a couple of really nice holes such as the 2nd, 5th and 9th, however they were let down by others, particularly the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th which felt like playing a totally different, much lesser quality, golf course.
So basically, Naemoor good; Cowden not so. Would like to see what the Arndean is like, hopefully some other time.
