Irvine Golf Club

I was met by a former Cpatain as the club has a meet and greet policy for visitors to show them round the clubhouse and answer any questions. This was an excellent touch.
I had previously contacted the club to enquire about using the James Braid Association discount and all of my dealings with Andy, the Assistant Secretary, were excellent.
The day was dry but a touch windy. Given the recent poor weather the course was in excellent condition. The only exceptions were the low lying 6th and 13th holes. But that did not take away from the enjoyment and a few more dry days will sort that, I am sure.
The course is mostly par fours - just two par 3’s and one par five. Only twice do more than three consecutive holes run in the same direction
11 was unreachable into the wind
you cant afford to go left with either your tee or approach shots to the long 13th
don’t be short and left of the 17th as the slop will take your ball into gorse.
Beware of the ground falling steeply away short of the 3rd green and do not fail to get up to the fourth as the green is raised.
This is a good test of golf and well worth a visit.
The clubhouse is well appointed and serves both good food and drink.
I will return and encourage others to do so..

We were warmly welcomed to the club by a past captain who gave us a tour of the clubhouse before our tee time. He was very engaging and went through the history of the club. The course itself was very unique, with a great mix of challenging links holes. Definitely going to go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day out. Warm welcome was received both at the pro shop and clubhouse. Course was in very good condition given the time of year. A good mixture of holes with some more challenging than others. Would certainly consider another visit.

We were met by past Captain Jim, who gave our group of 6 a conducted tour of the clubhouse and facilities but also told us of the history of the club. We were all very impressed not only with the club's history but all so the club members were all welcoming and offered local knowledgeable to and during our round, all of which helped us to enjoy the whole day out.

On behalf of our BDO (Big Daz Oot) group from Erskine GC I would like to thank everyone for the very warm welcome we received on Monday morning to your course. A Past-Captain was on hand to meet us who detailed a brief history of the club during a short tour of your clubhouse - a nice touch.
The course itself was in excellent condition and offers some challenging holes. Unfortunately the green staff were embarking on their winter programme of hollow tining but this didn’t in any way detract from our course experience as the ball still ran well and true.
During post-game bar meals we all agreed that it had been a most enjoyable outing and one which we certainly wish to repeat.

Great experience playing Bogside during my first trip to Scotland. Having played nine different golf courses I can steadily say that Irvine provide us the warmest welcome we've had on a golf course, not only here but anywhere I went to play golf all over Europe. I need to thank the Captain and the Pro to make me feel I was a daily member of the club.
The course is not very long, but definitely tricky, biting you whenever you hit errant tee shots. It was immaculate, with the best greens we've seen on our Ayrshire trip. Lovely lunch too. Really looking forward to come back!

Myself and friends won a four ball at Irvine and headed down on Monday morning to be met by Jim who took us in hand and introduced us to the professional. We were booked in about an hour after our arrival but but were very accommodating and allowed us to tee off early. Jim showed us all the facilities and wished us a good round. Course was in great nick with the greens very slick and true. Stray off the fairway and it's most likely a lost ball as the gorse bushes gobble up off hits. Would definetly reccomend the course to friends and other gowfers who like a challenge.

We had a great day at Irvine Bogside, right from arrival we received a warm welcome from the professional then got a tour by Jim a past captain, place is steeped in history.
The course was excellent, I've played on links courses all over Scotland and these are the best I've putted on, very true and quick. The course requires good strategy off the tee which caught us out once or twice but really enjoyed the challenge.
Afterward we went in for lunch which was top class. Will definitely be back.

First time playing Irvine. Course was in top condition. Greens with good speed. Lots of variety in the course. Impressive!

Very accommodating staff allowed us to delay tee off time due to conditions.
Marvellous clubhouse. Met personally by the Club Secretary & given a guided tour of a very historic clubhouse.
Considering the wet & windy weather the course was in remarkable condition. I would certainly like to play it again but perhaps not in a gale

I highly recommend Irvine bogside gc.
It's a joy to play and some very good holes.
I wouldn't hesitate to play this course again!

First time playing Irvine today - seriously impressed!

We were delayed/rerouted by some local roadworks so didn't have time to check out the facilities but managed to squeeze in a friendly welcome and chat with the club captain who met us in the car park.

Course was in top condition with some great views around the 6th/7th. Greens running true and very quick. Enjoyed every hole, lots of variation. Some tough long par 4's - make sure your driving is in good shape!

Look forward to returning.

Great day today, course and greens in fantastic condition for April. Staff and officials v. friendly too.

On arriving at The Irvine Golf club we were very helpfully advised and welcome by the club professional. We were then greeted by a past Captain (cannot remember the gentlemans name). He told us about the club and its history and some of the major events that the club has hosted. As we approached the first tee and subsequently drove off, he wished us a good game. This was a very nice touch and made my partner and I feel very welcome. The course itself was fantastic and in very good condition for the time of year-particularly the greens. All in all we had a great day and will most definitely be back. Thank you.

Well now !! Very impressed by the friendliness of everyone we met at this course. We were sat waiting on our rolls when a past captain introduced himself to us. His name was Jim, he told us a bit about the history of the club & gave us a tour. This is a nice touch. After we got changed, he came out to the first tee. Telling us more about the course & took a photo for us. ( not many clubs do this )
The course was in good nick for the time of year !
The clubhouse is lovely, good food. The toilets & showers are very nice indeed ( towels provided & soap in the showers )
Shower was needed to warm us up, very cold day !!
If you get the chance give it a go. You won't be disappointed

A simply outstanding course. Even in calm benign conditions this brilliant course will challenge. Throw in some Scottish weather and you'll need to buy extra balls. The staff are wonderfully hospitable. Thanks for a great day!

From the arrival, where Past Captain Jim was waiting to greet me by name, to the clubhouse staff and pro shop, the Team at Irvine provide the end to end experience that is hard to beat. Nothing was too much trouble and all were keen to showcase their course and clubhouse where the members were also kind and engaging with us on the course. I cannot recommend Irvine highly enough and look forward to returning for many years for my special golf outing.
