Interesting and challenging course

First time playing and as reviews say it is a hilly course and not one to be carrying your bag unless your fairly fit. We had trolleys but the opening 3 holes are physically demanding as is the walk between some tees and a few steep inclines on some fairways. Most fairways will leave you with an undeveloped lie on 2nd shots so it is challenging. Rough was brutal and with the bone dry conditions, wind and run offs on fairways a lot of shots didn't find the short stuff. Been a while since I lost as many balls but that just adds to the challenge over these 18 holes. Nice variety in hole design with the front 9 being more difficult imo. Greens were good although given the altitude of the course some are more exposed and faster than others. The 18th downhill however looks like the course designer suddenly realised it was time to get back to the clubhouse. It is a bit of a weird hole given the creative holes previously.. all in all though it was great value fir money and members very friendly as was the club pro. Would play again now I know the lay out and approach on some of the blind drives.

Good course wasted.

Have played many times and it's a good track but set set up like a us open. Bad bounce and lost ball. Front nine is the worst. Live the course but only for mastic golfers.

Course was in magnificent condition considering the amount of rain that had fell the previous night.. very windy day but only added to the challenge of club selection.great variety of holes. Very hilly climb first 5 holes but broken up with lovely par 3s and stunning views. Tee boxes, fairways, approaches and greens in brilliant condition. Absolute bargain at £15 on golf now. Will hopefully be back soon.

Very windy and hilly!

Was booked on for 14.50 and turned up and the clubhouse was packed, but no one anywhere to give us a card or inform them of our arrival, that bit was closed.
Lots of difficult blind shots, especially if you don't know where you are going! Tough climbs on the first few holes. Some cracking holes and stunning views. Miss the first cut on majority of the holes and you'll do well to find your ball!
