Where Tiger started it all.

The place that Tiger broke into professional golf at the GMO. Brown Deer is a great muni course. Probably the 2nd best one in the entire state of Wisconsin. Course layout is well designed with some decent length par 3s and some pretty solid risk reward par 5s. They did a great job of designing the course around a creek that runs through 8 holes, some where it is in play and some where its just a good visual.

The back nine is really pretty of some back and forth up and down holes. The 13th and 16th tee boxes are so cool, make sure you go all the way back. 15th is a great shot position par 5. Finally not much beats the view at sunset of 18 with the clubhouse in the back. Great course and a place you need to say you have played. So get to Brown Deer.

Classic City Park Muni Course

We sought out this course because we heard it hosted the Greater Milwaukee Open for many years and it was evident from the tips (just looking, we played the 6500 yard tees). The conditions were excellent, pace of play on a Sunday very good (95 degree heat kept many away). I´d price it more like $60 to walk but can understand $75 is still a good value. A classic walkable metro muni course, you can tell plenty of regulars and men´s club league is good. If I lived in the area I would likely make this a regular experience.

Totally worth it!

I play this course quite a lot. The fairways are mowed to perfection and the greens roll smooth and true. Holes have character and vary greatly. Some holes are challenging but they are balanced out by holes where you can easily score low. Facilities are excellent. When you are on this course you would never realize that this course is a muni. Excellent overall.
