Take your money and don’t care

Arrived at the course in plenty time, no parking spaces left in car park, checked into pro shop, was asked if I had played the course before, explained no it was my first time, is there anything I should know? Pro said no other than it was wet last night watch your footing in the hills, fair enough. He did fail to mention the two greens that were off in the front 9 for maintenance work. Not even a proper mown down temp green just a flag plonked in the grass. See photo. Course signage could be cleared round about the 3rd and 10th green to 11th tee. Few hold ups on tee boxes waiting for people to clear different parts of the other holes very congested round about 6th tee with a green on your left and right and people playing approaches. Group of 4 youths seemed to “jump in” round about 12th hole which caused 3 group hold up, they didn’t seem to care about any etiquette of cutting in and now having two groups waiting on the tee box.
Overall would not rush back to play.

Great condition for this time of year

Greens were great for early April, the view from the 3rd tee is a little confusing, luckily played with a member, but could have easily hit towards the wrong green if I hadn't known.

Ps. Don't go over the trees on the 3rd tee...

16 hole course!

Turned up to be informed fairway matts were in use despite a few weeks of dry weather. Disappointing but understandable in early March. The 7th and 8th hole closures seemingly not worth a mention either when booking or checking in were not so understandable. All (16) greens in play was a positive. I strongly feel that only fully open courses should be available to book on Golf Now.

Another East Renfrewshire Gem

Played this and very surprised to get it for £25 as had heard great reviews about it
First impressions were that there was plenty off tee time’s available ion a Friday morning but one disadvantage off this was pro shop or clubhouse not open at 8:30am so no scorecard available
There are good signs at each tee so we could use that as a guidance
The course is in excellent condition, greens are very fast and definitely a credit to the greenkeepers.
The course proved quite tough even off the yellows as the position off pins suggested setup for weekend comps
Added to the challenge off the course
There are some blind holes and the burn tends to appear at nearly every hole
A bit off feedback would be better signage off the 9th tee and directions from 10th green to 11th tee as it’s not obvious to visitors
Overall a great course and will look to return as I am sure after playing I can put in a better score and stay out the burn
There was a function on in the clubhouse so didn’t get a chance to check it out

Great wee coarse

First played this coarse few months back just before the weather went into proper winter conditions. Was so glad I looked it up and took a chance on it . Coarse is a hidden gem . I thought the layout was great even though there’s 5 par 3s each are different great yardage to them too . I’m not a fan of 200 yard par 3s so these are from 130 to 170 yards with different elevations from tee to green . There is also a good mix of holes we’re you can make birdie or safe pars having said that there are tough challenging holes out there if your not a long hitter like myself . Coarse also has quite a bit of slope at certain holes which was good for overall shot making . Greens were pretty good also and the greenkeepers have done a good job maintains coarse from fairways to greens . Have played coarse 4 times now and plan to play it again soon would definitely recommend coarse .,.
