Douglas Park

I plaed this course with a friend and had a good day out.
I enjoyd the round, the staff and members were friendly and it's location to Glasgow is excellent, which was the reason we played here.
Food in the club house was good.
I would recommend playing here (review was submitted after several badgering emails requesting feedback from golfnow, so can't remember the round specifically)

Beautiful Course

Douglas Park made for an invigorating round of golf - fairways and rough were well tended.
The greens were slower than expected and seemed to be cut slightly longer than usual - this may have been down to the intense amount of rain leading up to the round though.

Overall it was a great experience, and I'd love to play there again

A great course

Thoroughly enjoyed our round earlier today.

The course has a great layout with good hole variety. The greens could be in better condition. However, they were not slow and we were informed that they are expected to improve.

The members that we ran into were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Doesn't drain well

Looks a lovely course on the web. Unfortunately the website (Douglas Park) didn't mention that it was winter matts (but we had ours with us) and the winter tees were an average of 20 yards forward of the tee boxes. The course was soaked with puddles on every fairway. It doesn't appear to drain well. Our electric trolleys struggled with the soft, water logged conditions. (It wasn't raining that day).
Big greens and the course can be hilly in places. I'm sure it could be nice when it's dry but if it's been wet in the previous day's, I wouldn't take a chance.
