dissapointing attitude from female secretary
Booked through golf now last fr to play at 12;38....nearly at course at 12;20 and got call from female who i think was secretary saying the time we had booked and paid for was not available and that we could only get out at just after 1;30, even although gets dark just after 4...she was most unhelpful even when i explained we were just a couple on mins away. We decide to speak to speak to the young boy standing in for Mathew, the pro, and he got us out straight away, thankfully. Unfortunately we being a 2 ball were held up the whole round bt a four ball who would just not let us play through despite some desperate hints......
Good course
Good course - some really good holes -‘10th and 17and 18 are cracking golf holes
Only downside is 14th and 15th holes - terrible drainage
Well worth a visit and good value for your cash
When we arrived were told some holes were off it turned out 11 holes were.Tod to come back if there were 6 or more but when we finished clubhouse was close.Usually a great course but was very disappointed.
D cardno
Course was very nice considering heavy rain the day before
Very slow play. Had to slightly enforce ourselves onto a 4 ball in front of us to let us through ( eventually )
Had a accident in the car park injuring myself & the lady in the pro shop looked after me also bleeding on the first tee & a member gave me a plaster to put on my head
So got to say they were very nice
Course in great condition
Course in great condition considering recent rain and really enjoyed the round. Greens very consistent, some tough holes but all fair. Staff very friendly, some members less so, but overall a really pleasant experience.
Disappointing.
The course is a good course with many interesting and good holes but as of November with the weather of past few weeks the course should not be open. There is a tremendous amount of water and mud on the tees and fairways ... actually the greens were in pretty good shape as were most of the bunkers ... but the t boxes and fairways were awful. Sorry to have to rate the course in this way but I played this course as a junior many years ago and it was great but a big disappointment today.
Definitely worth a vist
Played a few times , course always in great condition when I've been there
def. more good holes than bad and offers a good challenge to most
only downside is the access , may need to be highlighted more , as if you don't know where to go can be easily missed
Great long course lovely layout
Fantastic course
Grounds men let the course down with the attitude of them swearing and down right rude towards us as if wee hadn't play before
The course is well laid out and gives you a chance no matter your handicap. The greens were in great condition and good to putt on but with the tight cut holes you have to be accurate. We got a lovely evening if a little bit windy but it was a most enjoyable golfing experience that we look forward to doing again.
Outstanding
Played at Williamwood yesterday and was blown away by the stunning conditions! Like a hidden gem as you forget you are in the middle of a fairly built up area! Every hole was unique and a great challenge! I play different courses home and abroad regularly and wold rate this as one of the best yet! Highly recommended!
This is a good little course
I played this course this week. Despite all the rain and snow we have had, the course was in good condition. Staff at the pro shop were very helpful. The course is well laid out and easy to follow. There are some tricky holes, but the 14th is a belter. 452 yards par 4, Short and open course par 68 from the yellow boxes.
Definitely getting a return visit here.
Decent city links course
Course was on winter greens and bit waterlogged but that's no fault of the staff after heavy rain and snowstorms the last fortnight. Over all a good course with some raised tees and good greens.
My main issue is the layout here are very few next tee markers and these are not easily Identified given the layout. Although 18 holes it is very narrow and I suspect was increased from 9 holes some time in the past. A number of the fairways are very close together a with players hitting towards each other making it confusing toneztablish your fairway.
Probably less an issue for members but I'm reviewing as a guest so there it is.
For £10 it was still well worth the round.
Great course
Would highly recommend this course. Considering the rain we’ve had it’s still in good condition. A bit wet at bits but to be expected. This is the second time I’ve played this course and will definitely be back
A Frustrating Round
The. Course itself is very enjoyable to play and well laid out, but unfortunately our round was spoiled by the extremely slow rate of play. I would warn other potential players that there are a group of members who play at lunchtime on a Tuesday who play a format that was particularly slow. We learnt this the hard way. Our round took nearly four hours.
Worth a round
Good course with varied and interesting holes, some of the tees and greens are a bit close together, this makies shots into the green a bit nervy for someone playing for the first time. When we played the conditions were good and the fairways and greens were in very good order, some of the fringes were a bit soft but I'm sure they will dry out during the summer. The staff were all welcoming and friendly.
A very course
A course I have wanted to play for a while and a very enjoyable round. We were stuck behind an outing that slowed the pace of play as many of the outing party were not golfers.
The course was in good condition, greens were fast and responsive of lacking a little in grass in places. There are at least 5 spectacular holes with good views of the area.
It is a short course but well laid out with the par 5s having key features to make you think about your game. The greens have very challenging slopes and lots of tree lined fairways make accuracy important.
It was easy to go round without using a driver as many holes around 350 yards meant a good iron off the tee left 100 to 120 yard approaches.
All in all a very nice course, lacks practice facilities and the putting green is in an awkward position but I would go back to play again.
Williamwood first timer
The course was good and I can't fault it. The members I came across were also friendly. However, the course could benefit greatly from 'next tee' signs as well as a map for visitors. Course could also be doing with better practice facilities but this is a minor complaint.
First time at Williamwood
Fabulous course, very scenic and good views across the course, you can see lots off the holes from many of the tees. Was very dry but the greens had been watered.
Course was superb and the pro in pro shop was so down to earth. Would advise anybody to who enjoys their golf to play this course
