Excellent greens for late november
Course is in really good condition for late november, greens are lush, really enjoyed it
Good course!
For the amount of rain that had fallen I was pleasantly surprised at how good the greens were. Few very wet bits but can’t complain for the time of year. Will definitely be back and would consider becoming a member.
Good value winter round
The course was in good condition for the time of year. Still playing on full tees and greens and no matts on the fairways.
There had obvious been a lot of rain recently and apart from 1st and 18th the fairways where very playable.
Greens for the time of year where very good.
I like the course layout but be warned this is a hilly course. But the variety of holes keep it interesting to
Play.
Great greens considering rain!
Played course today when my own was 18 winters. course very playable considering the rain in west of Scotland this week. Greens really good due to USPGA greens. Some great holes off the tee. Guys in the pro shop great too and give a great impression of the course.
Dullatur Antonine Course - long day of iOS and downs
Great hikes - I mean holes
The course is great just very hilly and we were stuck behind 3 slow players who had etiquette- could have met us through a dozen times but didn’t - slow played every hole and even par 3 ‘s and didn’t let us play through
The course itself is great and the hikes are amazing - pity they ain’t a bit flatter
But 100> I’m
Going back - but I’m hirin a buggy when I do
Bit hilly but worth it
Some fairways were bit soft f I’m being ruthless. Markers on tee could be freshened up. But the course played well, greens really good condition, in between tees bit muddy but a good morning and only took 3 hrs
Great Round
We've played the Antonine course at Dullatur twice in the last two weeks and really enjoyed it both times. The course is in excellent condition, with great greens.
We played after 5pm both days as two ball and we're round in 3hrs 20mins.
Awesome greens
Course wet underfoot, but it's been raining for days. Excellent condition for this time of year, especially the greens, must be awesome speed in the summer. Nice layout if a little hilly.
Buggy a must
Great day at this course so many different levels to this course . Compliments to green staff the course was in magnificent condition . We are very glad we hired a buggy. Will definitely play this course again.
A tough walk
The first thing to mention about this course is that it is a tough walk, most holes feature elevation changes, some drastic. There are quite a few long walks between green and tee. I wouldn't play if you're not in the mood for a workout. There's some nice scenery to help soften the blow.
With that said, there are a lot of interesting holes, it's a challenging track. I played on a soggy day in February and the course was wet in places but for the most part very playable. The greens were excellent for the time of year. Also no winter mats which was nice and the course was holding up fine for it.
Its maybe just my experience, but I've never had a particularly warm welcome as a visitor which puts me off playing here more often sadly.
Excellent Course clubhouse a bit pretentious
Enjoyed the golf on what was a challenging course with lots of level changes. Great views, however glad we booked a buggy as some long hauls between tees. Early holes were very wet however this improved as round went on. Greens had been top dressed etc however they still played very well. Worth a visit in better weather for sure.
Pro's shop was very helpfull and friendly however the clubhouse had pretentions of greatness and found it a bit staid and stuffy. Meal was very good.Didn't spoil the day just didnt enhance it.
Wow thoroughly enjoyable but not what I was expecting
Many more elevation changes than I anticipated pre arrival, used a buggy on the day but only to give my friends ageing father a day out spectating. Glad of the buggy due to the undulations and some of the walks between greens and tees.
Makes excellent use of the terrain, was expecting more of a rolling parkland course which as indicated was not the case. Glad as it added character to the course and enhanced the challenge.
Course early on was very wet under foot but as the course opened out this improved considerably. Greens had had their winter prep just before we arrived so difficult to judge but looked the part despite this. Only crit is that the bunkers were quite firm with indifferent sand quality. A lot of well designed and aesthetically pleasing holes more than made up for any minor criticisms.
Staff encountered were all exceptionally friendly and the course is one I would certainly recommend as it was interesting and challenging but fair.
Best Saturday afternoon course
Always delivers a great Saturday afternoon round of golf
Good, testing course!
Was looking for a quick round of golf near by and was sceptical as it being just next to the overpriced, poorly kept Westerwood but we were pleasantly surprised.
Course was in pretty good condition and had superb weather, no complaints there. Although only a par 69 it was a pretty testing course and you have to be pretty straight off the tee as danger often awaits stray tee shots. Good little layout but be warned if you dont like hilly courses as some holes are a little steep. Didn't bother me though.
Only a few things kept it from being excellent; 1- Rakes in bunkers (not one in any we seen) 2) Nice hole signs with yardage 3) little signs pointing you toward next hole (there was a few but we found it pretty confusing and can be a bit of a maze 1st time playing.
Overall though we enjoyed our round and will play again no problems. As a local golfer i recommend you play dullatur over Westerwood any day.
