Nice layout but too wet
Eldo is a nice layout but the course conditions (after 11” of rain) made it too sloppy to be enjoyable. They should have closed those holes with the most standing water and prorated the green fees. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I will come back.
Good conditions but soft fairways and casual water
Course was in good condition except for casual water on several holes due to recent rain. Greens were very good.
Short winter day
I'm iin poor walking shape, so "cart path only" made for a hard day. The soaked course and long rough added to my misery. I take 12 balls, and brought back 5, But I like golf so there.
Started at noon and finished after 5pm, with the last of sun light.
flat and soaked
not a real exciting course to play. for the same price the other courses in long beach make for a better experience.
place is soaked often, cant drive the cart on the course.
driving range is way too small, massive lines just to take a few warm up shots.
Tough Course…..great round
Got my butt kicked. Good start and then started spraying which is a game ender here. Layout is awesome, pace was good, and nice to play with locals. Lots of standing water from the rain storm made it tough with no roll though it was understandable.
Stay right on 10 and stay left on 18. Definitely a recommend.
Awesome
Course was perfect to play,
Everything was awesome,
I recommend this course to all golfers 🏌️♂️ 👍
Difficult; Old Carts
It’s a tough course, especially for someone new(ish) to the game. The greens are fast and curvy. Even from 3-4 feet, will rarely have a straight putt. Bunkers envelope a few of the holes to where there’s only one narrow path to the green from the fairway. There are enough trees to make you lose a few balls and several dogleg holes.
The carts are old and don’t have parking brakes and the bag strap in the back was terrible at keeping my bag in place. Pace of play was really bad. Took 5 hours on a weekday to finish. Particularly backed up on the first and last par 3s (three groups waiting at one point), likely due to the difficulty of those holes. Cart girl came around several times which helped our group cool off with drinks.
Some greens are punched
The course was in good shape in most area but there are muddy spots here and there. The front 9 greens were nice and slick however the back nine’s are punched. It would take about two weeks to recover. Skip the course for now until the greens are back to normal.
Long 5 hour round with amateur players in front of us 2 holes behind.
Hardest course in Long Beach 🙌
Started my game at 12:50pm and ended at 5:30pm (4 hours and 45 minutes)
Course is in excellent condition. Greens are running smooth and hole placements are in tough spots. Made it just in time after sunset, and definitely looking forward to playing this course again!
GREAT COURSE ALL-AROUND
Had a HotDeal for Sunday at 9:30am. The course has a great practice facility that's well-kept for its driving range, spacious putting greens, and solid chipping area. A 4hr 40min round was pretty solid for peak hours as well.
The course can be narrow and lined with plenty of trees, so accuracy with tee shots and approach shots is a must or it'll be a lot of punch shots for your round.
For it being a muni-type course, the greens are quick, undulating (especially the first par 3), and well-maintained.
Favorite hole was likely 18: a decent-sized par 5 that dares you to go for it in 2 if you have a good tee shot and think you can clear the water hazard in front!
Definitely a course to try if you're visiting or haven't tried before.
