ELDO
Haven’t played here in months, course was in very good condition. Greens played fast and were a little bumpy which is expected when playing in the late afternoon. Otherwise, very enjoyable!
Best course in Long Beach - by far
Nice round - ideal weather. Nobody in front and nobody behind, under 4 hours.
Disappointing.
Is the staff just ignorant as to not notify golf now of aerated greens. Is management so arrogant that they think golfers are just going to show up and appreciate their playing on sandbox greens? Golfers understand greens need to be aerated just give us the option, do better.
1+ inch sand on greens
I rated higher in certain categories based on the assumption the current course conditions are only like it 12-13 times a year.
Of course aerating and sanding greens are necessary to maintain the greens but the amount of sand was unbelievable. On around 13-15 holes there was at least 0.7-1 inches of sand on the green. In fact the actual green was not visible in any capacity and it was completely blanketed in white sand. The sand was thick enough that actually it didn’t appear to have aeration holes.
For three holes the flag stick was moved to the middle of the fairway… putting on fairways with geese surrounding the hole.
Now for the positives, pace of play was great and staff were kind unfortunate that course conditions were not clearly communicated.
Aerating greens
Nice layout of course, seasonal aerating of greens was tough to play.
