Long Beach Muni
Course is in immaculate shape right now! Greens rolling pure and fairways with no issues. Pace on a Sunday at 1:30pm was 4:30 which is totally understandable for a weekend muni. Great job staff!
Overpriced value
Like most Long Beach courses, the grounds are not that well maintained. The price does not match the product. Poor fairways, greens, and most of all bunkers. Long Beach has drastically increased their prices without keeping the courses in good condition. Many other courses have better value, for example, Coyote Hills, Black Gold, Los Lagos, just to name a few.
I used to play courses in LB twice a week but now I play them once every three-four months.
Painfully slow play
Course is a great layout in good condition.
The staff is very rude, more so when see you booked with golf now, you get lecture every time letting. you know that they don’t appreciate you booking with third party systems
The pace of play is painfully slow, at best 5 hours if you have a tee later than 10 am. No one seems to care and I don’t understand it.
It’s a great course in spite of the staff and slow play.
Concrete Traps
Traps are literally like hitting out of a Quarry. seeing some work in progress on some of them, hoping this will continue to improve
first time
first time playing and was very challenging for me. Lay out was nice fairways nice and wide and greens fro me very fast. pleasant time all tho the pace was sometimes slow
Course superintendent needs to be fired
El Dorado is supposed to be Long Beach’s best course. It would be if the course would get a little TLC. I understand the course gets a lot of play but it’s getting out of control. The greens are as bad as any public course I’ve played. My ball never rolled true once. It looked like it was going through the whoops section of a dirt bike track. I suggest rolling them every now and then. The bunkers are so inconsistent. Some are decent, some are hard as a rock, and some were filled with water. It hasn’t rained hard in months!!!!
Golf club delay and no comms
Showed up for a time and we waited 35 minutes beyond our call time. No heads up when booking, no mention on-site of delay and staff was of no help. Pointless round
Never again, El Dorado.
Challenging course
Very good condition. Challenging layouts and greens
