Clifton Hollow Golf Club
About
The Clifton Hollow golf course first opened in 1974 with just nine holes. The second nine was added in 1987 and since then it has become a cornerstone for western Wisconsin and Twin Cities golfers. The tough golf course has a mix of subtle and overt challenges. The seemingly gentle fifth hole is the course's signature. This par 3 plays from a slightly elevated tee to a sloped, undulating green that is surrounded by mature oak trees on either side. The final hole is also a par 3 but it has earned the title of being the "Monster of Clifton." It's a lengthy one at 637 yards, featuring the longest fairway and largest green on the golf course. With plenty of room for different pin placements, your putting skills will be put to the test.

Worth playing again
Like most of the area courses right now due to the good weather, the course was in great shape. The course is challenging enough and has some fun risk/reward holes. I haven't played here in years due to poor course conditions, but I heard that it was much improved. I will go back again and is a great value course to play.
Clifton
Clubhouse needs some work, but overall course was good.
Thanks for coming out to play. Hope you'll stop back and play before the season ends.
Fun layout
Even with chilly and windy conditions we still had a lot of fun.
Thanks for your great review! We'll try to bring in better weather for you next time ;)
We hope to see you here again soon.
Course in great shape!
Fun and a great quality round of golf! Tough shots in spots but still gives everyone who plays a chance to recover.
Thanks for your great review! We hope you'll play here again soon.
Beware of horseflies
The course is in decent shape. The horseflies were horrible. There are horsefly traps on many holes but it is still a problem.
There was no beverage cart but there is drinking water on a few holes.
The water in the many ponds on the course is very scummy and not attractive.
The best thing about the course is the signage. There are overhead views of the hole on every tee box with yardages. Nice feature. The signage telling you where to go to the next hole is good as well.
For the money there are much better places to play so I have no reason to go back.
Nancy, you must have us confused with another golf experience. Your review doesn't sound at all like our course; no horsefly traps (not even sure what these are) or horsefly problems, no on course signs with overhead graphics of holes (we have those on our scorecards with critical shot yardages), ponds are clear, and we've always been considered a great value.
I hope you'll consider playing our course and revising your review.
Happy golfing,

Nice Course
Course and greens in great shape. Not especially difficult but you have to put some thought into your shots which is fun. Also a great bargain. Overall I would recommend this course.
Thanks for your great review! We hope you'll play here again soon.
Great price
Beautiful course and the price is great.A georgess course and the price per round is affordable.
Thanks for your great review! We hope you'll play here again soon.
Nothing special
The course was in good shape. Nothing fancy course. Not a fan of the layout. Greens were small but in good shape. Tip: bring a laser. I used two different gps' and neither of them worked for this course.
great value friendly staff will
The course is well-maintained and the staff is professional and friendly. While moderately difficult, for should appeal to all levels of golfers. The course is very scenic with a number of very interesting holes. Number 17, which is quite short, offers a real challenge because of the narrow green.all in all, it's well worth the trip from the Twin Cities to enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and a friendly staff.
trashgolf
Great day on course. Greens were in great shape. I would refer my friends.
Good variety of holes.
The course is usually in good conditions. There are a variety of short and long par 3's, 4's and 5's. The greens demand your attention, but are all of similar speed and contour.
Great time.
This was a good course to play. I would return here again.
And hours drive from Minneapolis
I live in Minneapolis so an hours drive for me is not the best. I did find the course in excellent condition. Greens kind of furry and not easy to pot. Fairways in good condition with several unique holes.
best play for the money this year
smaller medium speed greens in good shape. The course had that mature country course character with a couple of short par fours that were fun and shot placement if going for the green was challenging. # of our foursome were 5-8 handicap and really enjoyed and will play here again. Hitting greens below the hole is import and here.
Nice course
Nice course and at a great price thanks to golfnow.com.
You get what you pay for
This course has a simple layout with some challenging holes. Strategically placed bunkers for players teeing up the blues and some reachable par 4s. This is a farm course for those of you wondering.
Easy track
Nice course for $18 on Golf Now. Wide open fairways with too small of greens. I'd go back. Cart girl was very nice and attentive.
Tracy
Ok course for the money. It was a little short and you had to wait to drive on some par 4's. It's good for the average golfer like me.
Nice little course
Fun course. You could go really low here which is always a confidence booster. Most par fours are just over 300 which shouldn't leave you with much of an approach and maybe even a couple eagle putts. Greens were a bit slow but they did hold approaches well despite the spell of dry weather lately. Beverage cart made it around a few times and that was mid day on a Tuesday. Looked like there were drink and food specials most days of the week.
Best Sunday Outing This Year
Course was in great shape. Enough challenges for players at just about every skill level. Pace was good, even with the 20 minute rain delay after 11 holes. But practice area needs some upgrades, though.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Only saw the "Beer Girl" once, though.
Got a "Hot Deal' from GolfNow.com and actually played 2 balls all day.
I`ll be back soon.
If you play here, leave time for a great wood-fired pizza.
Thanks for playing and your positive review. We hope to see you back again soon!
