Love this course!
This is a beautiful and challenging course. You have a variety of elevations and then some flat play in the valley. You have to make smart choices with a lot of the holes. Lots of fun! Don't miss out!
Best Golf In the High Country
This is the best golf I have played since playing golf with Fred Funk at TPC Sawgrass. By far the best public course I have played on the East Coast/ South and rivals some of the top country clubs in the high country. Condition of course is equal to or better than some of the best country clubs in the high country. Course layout is extremely unique bringing a great mixture of challenging holes in the mountains on holes 1 through 5 and finishing with holes 14 through 18, with a nice break in the valley to make up shots on holes 6 through 13. A great restaurant with quality food and friendly, personable service. its a fantastic course worth the trip to Mountain City, TN.
This course was challenging.
The tier levels of the green were challenging. Don't 3 putt them.
Best kept secret of NE Tennessee
This is a very nice course. The greens are fast and can be a challenge. I don't know of too many places in this area where the staff is so nice and the course is kept in very great shape. It is not uncommon to see deer or wild turkeys running down the fairways. The food is great as well. I can't wait to go back.
Perplexed
I have played this course in the past and have been very pleased with the professional staff. I just discovered the course is under new ownership. This time I played, it appeared they were operating on a skeleton crew with little knowledge about golf. The pro shop has been relegated to a 10x10 room next to the restaurant upstairs. There is a somewhat small new pool under construction right next to the 1st and 10th tees. I can only imagine how distracting that will be when completed. The golf course appears to be low on the list of priorities. This location has tremendous potential but I am not quite sure of the vision they have in mind for the future. I hope they reach out to someone who has knowledge of the golf business and the needs of the populous. Good luck and God Bless.
Great views
Great course. Hope it stays the same !worth the drive from boone
Great character
Course is lot of fun each hole had a lot of character
Perfect Conditions
The course was in great shape. Can't beat the price.
Course was AWESOME! Thanks Golf Now.
This was my first time playing Redtail MT, my husband has played several times, it was also very special as it was our wedding anniversary, and it was AWESOME!! So excited and hope to get to play again in the near future. Course was challenging in places for a woman but still so beautiful and well maintained. Loved the signature hole, and all the wonderful views! It has just become my favorite golf course! Thanks
Outstanding views
Beautiful views. The course was in good shape and to understand it was late October. My only complaint. The bar played 1940 to 1950 music. When one gets done with his round and visit's the ninetenth hole for lunch and a beverage, he or she would prefer watching a ball game. Food was good.
Great views and in perfect shape.
This course was in better condition than any course I have played all year. #'s 1 and 16 fairways share a bog but it's easily avoidable. The greens were perfect. Well worth the drive.
My favorite mountain course .... period
Absolutely my favorite mountain course. Play here at least twice a year. Got to enjoy a round with my Dad as a late fathers day round on a beautiful golf course. If you havent got the chance to play Redtail please do so. Wonderful layout in the mountains. Most courses have strong elevation change holes and weak flat holes Redtail has the best layout I've played by far giving you strong mountain holes and strong "flat" holes. Played from the blue tees and dad played from the gold. Really felt great hitting all the fairways for once shooting a 74. Greens are in great shape and are tricky. The only downside right now is the bunker sand has washed. Heard they are going to try a new sand that has already been placed in greenside bunker on #1 . Will be back for sure..
