Cameron House - The Carrick
About
The Carrick at the stunning, five-star Cameron House Hotel is one of the newest additions to the golf scene in Scotland, opened in 2007. It's just down the road from the more famous, albeit private Loch Lomond C.C., and occupies similarly stunning land wrapping around Loch Lomond and the looming Ben Lomond Mountain in the Trossachs National Park.
Complementing the golf course is a brand new clubhouse and condo and resort units, though guests at the original Cameron House Hotel can take a boat across the Loch to the course.
The golf course is named after Canadian architect Doug Carrick, who has built numerous highly rated mountain designs in the Rockies and British Columbia.

Nice course
Played on a Friday evening ,course was in good condition for time of year. Great challenge with some challenging drives over water.will definitely be back as was great value for money
Rain is not my friend…
Having played the course a few times over the years I know how well it can play, however…I would avoid until the summer..
We were told there would be some standing water but in truth the first 8 holes were near unplayable, most other courses would have been closed. A number of tee shots clearly in play, plugging and disappearing. Entering the highlands, back 9, certainly did improve but I don’t think we even got value for money in the hot deal. Compared to the usual price heavily discounted yes but weren’t really playing the course rather than the water.
Clubhouse Facilities and staff are great but I wound wait for the sun ☀️
Robert weir
Can’t do anything about weather but I had to use my fairway Matt as most fairways were flooded especially last few holes divots everywhere on fairways doubtfully if course should be open thankfully I got golf now deal and didn’t pay much
Icy but good day out.
Played for the first time mid January, course was very frozen underfoot so can't give it a proper review but still managed a frosty 18, will definitely return on a less cold day to get a better feel for the course however it's worth the green fees for the views alone, Scotland you handsome devil 🏴
A championship course!
I’m not really the one to write an in depth review of a championship course being a 14 handicap player, all I can say is I’ve played it the best I could for the time of year I’ve played it, I had the opportunity whilst working away, most holes had standing water on them at some point but again that’s on me given the time of year and the recent weather around the area and I took that for what it was. There are some holes that are tight in fairway landing areas and I can only think that the little to no run out helped me stay in play as I feel that the same shots in summer may have put me in worse positions, all the greens had been hollow tined but again it’s right for the time of year, at least 6 holes give fantastic views of Loch Lomond. I did enjoy the round, especially the par 3’s, all guarded well with either bunkers or water. The real downside for me was the paths from tee boxes and between holes….i was avoiding pot holes like on a uk B road and when there was a flat path it was covered in 50mm ballast, not great for a trolley by any means, and the reason for 3 stars on course conditions.
Stunning course and layout
Enjoyable Day at the Carrick
Impressed with the Carrick we had a great day there. The course was in good condition and it was nice to play without winter mats. Some really stunning holes that take your breath away. The course was retaining a little bit of water but it didn’t affect our play. Will be booking again soon for sure.
Stunning scenery but not the best course
I had high hopes about playing this course. Set in beautiful Loch Lomond, some of the holes on the back 9 are simply stunning.
The fairways were in perfect condition but the greens left much to be desired.
It's a challenging course layout with danger lurking at every bunker but the greens for me let it down badly.
There's better value to be had (and this was me playing a hot deal). I kind of feel you're paying for the location and scenery rather than the course itself.
One for the tourists I think, there are better courses around the Glasgow area.
Well worth playing
Memorable holes, well developed greens. Whole course in good condition. Difficult but playable
Course review
Grass is still suffering from winter, bad luck, front players did not gave pass despite I was single player, so I had to wait in 15 holes.
Luck of courtesy, they should be aware.
02/04/23 2 Ball
Fairways and greens were perfect but tee boxes were not ready for the season and were not in good condition.
Par 3's were teeing off from mats that were covered in grit.
Would have expected to be teeing off from the actual tee boxes by April.
Course was quiet so no issues around pace.
The carrick
Lovely course and great staff not a great time of the year to play being the end of February as the drainage could be better but the views from around the course were spectacular definitely worth going again when the weather is a lot better
Will be outstanding in Summer
Course was verging on unplayable due to standing water, but with mats and taking to side as part of winter golf,it wasn't as bad. What a sensational course however, layout is very good and tricky enough from the gold tees so certainly don't fancy the blacks! Welcome was excellent but everything shutting at five wasn't great as we had planned on watching the rugby but these things happen. We were a fourball so did hold a few groups of 2&3 up but we let them through,we weren't slow going by the stipulated times on the card however. Certainly would say the Golfnow deal was good and would probably entice us back to play again but cost might be significantly higher in Summer so gives an opportunity to play a really good course for a very reasonable price. Would recommend.
Communication
Slow slow slow ..... Gave up after 9 holes .
double booking as no comunication to club and a 4 ball splitting into two 2 balls.
The person in the pro shop was very helpful course was in good condition for this time of the year bunkers were all raked great value for the money
Layout great condition poor
Layout of this course is superb. Pity the course looks like it's not well maintained. Greens were good apert from pitch marks and goose muck.
Fairways were a bit of a state.
Could be superb if given a tidy up
