Cherry Hills Lodge & Golf Course
About
Cherry Hills Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling countryside in Sturgeon Bay. The layout tumbles across a variety of elevation changes that make for some challenging, hard-to-read greens. Some have even compared them to Pinehurst's famous greens. Be prepared to have your short-game skills thoroughly tested. The front nine is slightly more forgiving than the back nine where the fairways are narrower and many are lined with out-of-bounds stakes. Water hazards come into play one four holes and there are a few strategically placed sand traps. The golf course is challenging but fair and not too intimidating for beginners, especially since at just over 6,200 yards, it is a manageable length. In addition to the course, there is also a lighted driving range at Cherry Hills G.C.

Not worth it!
Reserved a tee time the person working the pro shop sent a group of 4 out right before us, even though we had a reservation. We waited and waited and waited for this group to golf.
No bev cart on a 90 degree saturday
Title mentions the issue. Staffing is tough but if you want to run a successful golf course I’d recommend having a beverage cart on the weekends when the temp is over 80 degrees… Greens were in decent shape, fairways and rough just need some rain and it would be in pretty good shape
challenging course but
Had a great time little disappointed in the course conditions. quite a bit of brown grass. this is my 6th year playing this course always have a great time I pick cherries from choice orchards then finish the day with golf. Choice orchards just around the corner. course might be a bit challenging for a newbie.
A day with my dayghter
Pin placements were quite challenging today.
As with all public courses here, the course is very burned out. Played at a great time of day where no people were pushing behind us.
Enjoyed the round but lost too many balls that rolled too far after the shot and into areas not normal to the course when it is more irrigated with rainfall.
Deceptively tough
I’ve played Cherry Hills at least once a summer for the last 25 years. I’ve seen it in poor shape and in great shape and I would say the condition for my last round was about as good as I’ve seen it.
Biggest changes I noticed were excellent quality sand bunkers and very challenging greens on all the holes. A couple of the greens were being repaired and those two had some bare spots. Playing around them is possible. The others were fast, had excellent flag placement, and plenty of challenging slopes and angles.
Cherry Hills is placed on undulating hillside, so many of the holes have lots of upslope and downslope lies. It helps to identify and play to landing zones. The fairways have plenty of room and trees are strategically placed to force decisions on many holes.
Cherry Hills driving range has tees, the chipping green has a sand bunker, and the carts and club house are adequate. No real frills, just good golf. Cherry Hills also tends to play fast, especially earlier in the day. I’m guessing you can get tee times pretty easily.
CherryHilly
The course is very hilly, we walked the front nine but got a cart for the back. Not a lot of holes you would hit a driver. Tee off with long irons. Long grass like a links course in places. Putting on the greens was a challenge. every putt has a break no green is flat. We had a great time playing the course. We are looking to go back and play again now that we have a feel for the course.
Great Value
Course was difficult because of dryness and ball would roll and roll, but greens were great and pace excellent. I would recommend but the ball would often find the tall stuff instead of the short stuff.
