About
Lake Wisconsin Country Club is located on the outskirts of Prairie du Sac, just a 30-minute drive from both Madison and the Wisconsin Dells. The golf course is quite short at 5,881 yards, which makes it pleasantly walkable, but it is certainly not an easy course. The front nine plays across rolling hills while the back nine is centered upon the manmade Lake Wisconsin. The bunkering throughout the golf course is minimal, but it is strategic and fair. The small, fast greens have enough undulations to give them some character but they are not overly difficult though the tricky doglegs shaped by stands of mature trees will test your accuracy. The par-3 12th hole is the signature thanks to a challenging island tee. Lake Wisconsin Country Club's 16th hole also has a memorable tee shot between two towering oak trees followed by a short iron to a well guarded green that backs onto the Wisconsin River.

A Golf Course that is worth the trip.
The course is in great condition the holes are very unique and a lot of fun. I just wish that we could use the floating river tee on the par three on the back nine it would be totally awesome. The greens are a lot of fun as well.
golfing single
I have played here several times and really like the course. the weather was great and course in great shape. That being said, a single golfer plays much faster than foursomes, particularly older MEMBERS. I caught up to a couple groups of members who don't prescribe to the practice of letting faster golfers play through, even when there was nobody in front of them. A little frustrating but I was patient for a couple of holes and then skipped around the course so I could get done more quickly. I will think twice about golfing here on a sunday.

So nice we are returning
I looked at the course layout before going and was a little concerned about all the water because it is along the river. We were pleasantly surprised to see the river never came into play.

A True Gem
Played Lake Wisconsin CC for the first time yesterday -- I will definitely be back. From the fast greens to the tight but fair layout and the plaques and monuments around the course, Lake Wisconsin CC was a treat. Other reviewers have commented on the length of the course. To be honest, I found it refreshing to play certain shots with different clubs to fit the ball into the fairway or onto the green. Not a course where you can bomb a driver all day long.

Challenging & Fun Course
Course is about a 40 minute drive NW from the north side of Madison and well worth the short drive.
It's a fair (some open holes w/room) but challenging course (other holes are tight w/trees) and it fun to play.
The par 5's are long and then there's some short par 3's on the back which are fun to play. Great course overall.

Awesome Greens
Very fun course best greens ive played in a long time. If it wasn't for the hot deal course wasn't worth the price of admission. Highly suggest finding a golf now deal for this course.

Very fun
My friend and I played the course yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The course layout is fun the holes are memorable and don't all look the same. Six par threes are unique but they are fun challenging part threes. On the back nine several of the golf holes at least four or five of them are on the Wisconsin River it is beautiful. We will be back.

Enjoyed the day
We golfed with friends from northern WI. It was an enjoyable round of social golf at a good value. Fairways and greens are in great shape.

Course seems a little difficult
Got behind 4 players who were playing very slow, didn't offer for us to play thru, they were sharing clubs it seemed, drove close to the greens at times, very disappointed that there wasn't anyone from the club house that didn't come out to see how things were going.
Makes you play all of your clubs
Played late Friday morning. Very good pace of play. 3:10 for 2 of us with a cart. This is a relatively short course but it makes you use your whole bag. I played the Blue tees and my Dad (82 years old) played the reds. The course was in great shape even though there was quite a bit of rain over night into the morning. The greens were fast but soft. Many of the traps were washed out or full of water but not much they could have done about that since it didn't stop raining until about an hour before we played. Very easy course to walk if you would want to do that.

3 hours for 9, staff wouldn't comp last 9 for another day and wouldn't enforce speeding up play (refused to)

Nice veiws
Course was in very good shape, greens were a nice speed and a few quirky holes but overall good track. Play was a bit slow but caused by group in front of us and a not a course issue.
