Value, Friendliness, Relaxed

I've recently started playing at Howick regularly. As a high handicapper who just goes out to have fun and enjoy the game, this course delivers on every level. The area is mainly populated by retirees, and this reflects in the membership, so pace of play is a little slow. Other than that, for someone at my level, just getting out, feeling relaxed on the tee, welcomed by the staff, and able to play comfortable golf for a steal of a price, there are few better options. Other courses in the area are more expensive, and don't make up for it in what they offer. I would recommend Howick to anyone looking for a fun round while in the Midlands of KwaZulu Natal.

First Time Playing

Worth a try.

Howick golf course is a nice course to play if the more well known courses in the area are booked up. Being a 9 hole course with many old members the pace of play can be frustrating, so go there with lots of time on your hands. Nice layout, tree lined, although 3 holes have informal housing right up against the fairway, but its no problem, the residents are friendly and present no danger, being separated from the course by an electric fence. Greens are not too bad at all, and I enjoyed the round. It will never be a top course, but by the same token its not bad at all. Give it a go..
