2nd try - Too Crowded
2nd try in a few years at this course. Staff was friendly enough and the clubhouse is spectacular. Skipped the range. Knew first 4 holes were murder and while somewhat interesting they create a real log jam right out of the gate with the par 3 second hole. Why courses make the second hole a three makes no sense. So many hazards and chances for lost balls on those first four the group just loses its enthusiasm for playing. After that it gets more enjoyable but what really bothers me is how close the greens and tee boxes are. It's actually scary. Teeing off on 10 you have groups firing rockets off one almost right at you. Italian beef at the 8/12 snack shack made up for a lot. The last 4-5 holes are well designed despite the ugly storage tanks and make you enjoy the course overall. I can put up with the crazy starting 4 but my group said they're done with this course. Waited in every single tee, but still finished in 4h30m starting at 7:30 on a Sunday. Don't see how they can ever speed up play with trouble on almost 100% of shots on the first 9. Back far more playable.
Great Course
Great course with beautiful views. Restaurant and bar are great. Would recommend anyone to play.
Great place to golf!
Tough conditions in the wet and rain, but all things considered the course is in excellent shape for it to be so early in the season
Wonderful links style course
I enjoy lost marsh and play it when I can if I did not live 35 miles away would play it monthly.
The layout is fun with many forced carry shots with water in play on many holes. It was light rain while I played but the greens still rolled at a nice pace.
My only issue is that this course can be pricey over 50 dollars during peak times so I look for a hot tee and get it for 25 to 35 dollars
Step up pace of play please!
Nice course.reasonable price...first 6 holes a breeze
for pace of play, then jammed up...no ranger
My Round at Lost Marsh
Lost Marsh is an extremely well manicured course with a great layout. The pace of play was excellent. The staff friendly and the cost is very reasonable for the quality. I typically play Lost Marsh 2 to 3 times a year and I always enjoy it. It is a challenge and a shot maker’s course.
Solid challenge
Lost Marsh is good layout with some demanding shots. You got to pay attention as it has a lot a "target" features. Fun to play with great "money games" elements! Very enjoyable.
Strange Layout
Very strange layout. The first 4 or 5 holes are surrounded by water and very narrow and the rest of the course winds through the woods with very little water. The course is in great shape and was fun to play. A big part of that had to do with playing with people that have played the course and were able to advise me on landing areas. The pro shop employee was NOT friendly but the starters attitude made up for it.
Lost Marsh
Very good course. You must be strategic with your game and shot placements if you expect to do well. I love the layout and design.
