Course is in pretty good shape wish there was a cart person with some drinks and food options
Fun course but late sunday pace was slow
Restaurant was closed when we got to the turn. Course itself was fun - decently maintained for a public course. Pace was slow - 5 and 1/2 hour round. (Sunday early afternoon)
First time
Good course. Marshall rode us through the first 5 or 6 pretty hard. We’re not great, but my group knows that and we keep the game moving. Think he didn’t like us for some reason but not sure. Maybe he’s had problems with groups our age range
5 groups backed up on one tee
Terrible pace of play. At its worst, we had 5 groups backed up on the same tee box waiting to tee off. Not an exaggeration. I ended up leaving after 12 holes because It wasn't worth waiting. Greens were also overly watered and aerated so no point practicing putting at this course.
Solid value for a full 18
First time playing this course and I was pleased with the value for 2 with cart included. I didn’t give it a full 5 stars just because of 2 knocks: 1. The pace of play was super slow; our foursome was playing ready golf and it still took 5 HOURS to finish. I can forgive this occasion because there was a tournament ahead of us but it was still surprising nonetheless. 2. The condition was mostly in good shape but the greens were definitely due for a punching when I played. There were also random muddy holes filled with water that clearly need to be fixed in some way. Other than those two marks though, I was very happy with the driving range (mats only but that’s to be expected), the staff both at the shop and in the restaurant, and the convenient location just south of the westside! Will definitely come back more regularly
DO NOT PLAY HERE
What a bunch of rude unprofessional people run this place. The first time I played here they didn’t have enough carts so I had to walk the first 5 holes in 95° temps. No offer of a refund, nothing. I paid for the cart for only 13 holes. Today, I went with my friend for his first round ever on an 18 hole course. He’s 76 years old. On hole 9, a marshal approaches us and tells us we need to pick up the pace because the group in front of us was a hole ahead. We very nicely said “ok, no problem, we’re sorry.” The marshal then followed us along the hole watching every shot we took until he eventually told us we had to just skip to hole 11. Then he told us for the rest of the round we should only hit 3 shots and pick up the ball if we’re not on the green. What? Is that a serious comment? Once we were on this hole’s green, the group behind us wasn’t even on the tee box of the long par 4, the starter comes out ONTO the green while we’re putting to say he’s getting calls about the pace of play. There must be some entitled regulars that call the starter to complain about the pace of play at an overbooked muni. I told him to tell the group behind us and that we’re not holding it up. He then basically told us we shouldn’t keep playing and yelled at me for refusing to not play at the lighting pace we were already playing at. So so bizarre. I’ve never experienced that on a course in the short 13 years I’ve been playing golf. But it gets better! On the next tee box, hole 10, par 3, we tee off before the group behind us has even hit their approach shots onto the 9th green and ANOTHER employee comes over to us and says he just wants to figure out what’s going on. What’s going on I told him is that your marshal and starter are harassing us for no reason and telling us to skip holes or just leave. He said he remembered me from last time when I didn’t have a cart and i was super chill about it. What a weird comment. We took our tee shots and he left. That same guy and the marshal saw us on the course later waaaay ahead of the group in front of us. No apology, nothing, just driving right by us. Not once the entire day was that group waiting on a tee box for us. Not even a par 3. I have pics and video attached. The best part of all of this is that when we finished on 18, my friend shot a 95 in his first round ever on an 18 and it was a 4:15 round. That’s right, just over 4 HOURS with no one ever waiting for us to hit but we get harassed by 3 employees because they thought the twosome with the old guy was holding the entire course up. Now, I’m a white guy from Baltimore that grew up with mostly black friends so I know how this goes, not my first time dealing with being singled out at a place that’s run by and frequented by black people. My girlfriend is black and honestly that’s why I started playing here in the first place. Thought it’d be chill. Thought I’d play with some cool people and make friends. Total opposite. Rudest people I’ve ever met at a golf course. I’d recommend not spending your money or time here. I’m definitely never going back. But if you’re black, that’s your spot, you’ll get treatment like white people do at other courses. Oh, bunch of junkies hanging out by the front gate too. Not the best area. Good luck.
Good value
This is a good practice course with moderate difficulty. The greens were punched a few weeks prior. Fairways were in decent shape.
