Holes are so close to each other
Much of the course is built with holes that are laid out parallel. This makes for lots of balls coming into and going into other holes.
Playing crowd was on the older end, making for a pretty slow pace for golf. Nothing challenging in terms of obstacles.
Come Here for a 6 Hour Round
Pace of play is a nightmare here regardless (5 hour round for certain), but this one was especially egregious because of the starter coming an hour late. Course is fine and decently fun but that gets overshadowed by the initial delay and the horrendous golfers who come here with zero regard for pace of play.
Horribly Long Grass
The grass was way to thick. There were foursomes all over the course looking like search parties in search of wayward golf balls, which had a impact on the slow pace of play. Here’s an idea, cut the grass!!!!
Bad greens, slow pace, terrible inefficiencies in check in shop
This course has always had the bones of a good layout but the greens are continually overly soft, slow, bumpy. They put out 8min tee times which means the course is continuously packed with long rounds and waiting every hole. But the worst thing about this course by far is the fact that there is constantly a large line in the pro shop to pay for the round or buy range balls/merch/gear. The reason is simple: You're NOT allowed to check in and pay any earlier than 15minutes before your tee time meaning you have to wait in line and pay twice if you are getting range balls. The lines were so large and frustrating that we showed up an hour early and didn't even get to warm up with range balls as I gave up in the first attempt at the line. Solutions are simple and will significantly improve the customer experience.
slowest. round. EVER
WE had a noon-ish tee-time on Saturday and braced for slow pace but wow. the course was so crowded that we were averaging about 2.5-3 holes per hour. waited on EVERY SINGLE hole 10-15 minutes. No marshall on course to regulate play. On hole#2 par3, there was a backup of 5 groups! how is that possible? people playing from the wrong tee-box spraying balls into next tee-box/fairway - very dangerous especially for walkers. 9 holes took almost 4 hours. Bald patches on some of the fairway, good greens though but people not fixing divots, so probably temporary... sand traps were actually mud troughs. I would seriously avoid playing this course ever again - a waste of time and money.
Best Staff
Staff is incredibly friendly and awesome, fairways are good, greens are well kept but this day they freshly sprayed sand on them and didn’t let us know so our balls were bouncing around and hard to read!
Fair muni course, needs TLC
This was a good course for the price, and fairly easy to get a tee time. There were bald/dirt spots in the fairways, un-repaired ball marks on the greens, and lots of fowl feces, i.e. duck poop! The course was wide open...great for beginners. It had some challenging holes, requiring some accuracy off the tee. Otherwise, it was a matter of hitting the ball far enough, especially into the wind (when it was blowing), I would probably play this again, after I exhausted all the other courses in the area, or I needed a quick "golf fix", and I couldn't get a tee time anywhere else.
Nice course
Course was in fairly good condition and pace was good.
Sunday Golf in LA
Tee time was 10:32 am. Actual tee off was 11:00am. Waited on every hole. 1hr to play the first 3 holes. Greens were in great shape and fast. Great to see overused sections of fairways being roped off and reseeded. Bunkers were in decent shape also. 5 hours 10 minutes to play 18 holes, on a Sunday in LA. Bring your patience and have fun.
