Great course and views
Very nice layout with a few hidden surprises and more than a few blind shots. It would be good to have a better map/key to the course showing the hidden hazards for us out of towners. Earlier this year the greens were apparently pretty bad but they were very nice yesterday. Still a bit bumpy, but I'm sure improvement will come along with time.
Fun to play
Played with my eleven year old daughter and had a great time. Her first time playing an eighteen hole course. Multiple tee boxes made it enjoyable for both her and I. Hope to go back soon. Sorry no review for the 19th hole.
Greens better than many others in No. NE
Greens have come back nicely and are better tan others I've played in No. NE. Remainder of course is on great shape. Course is challenging, lots of vertical terrain, some beautiful vistas and a nice 19th hole.
Wet but a great course
Rained on our round but the golf was still fun. Lunch special was very good and friendly. Pro was less than enthused about our group. Course was in great shape but 2 days of rain made it soft.
Really liked Brattleboro
Greens still coming back from a tough winter but the fairways are in excellent condition. Course was wet due to AM rain but very playable. A great value at any price. I will be back
Great day
First time playing Brattleboro. Was concerned about condition of greens based on reviews, but they have recovered and were in nice shape. Nice course. We'll play it again.
Update on July 29 conditions
Course is in great shape today. Greens have comeback and are up to tip top condition. If you were disappointed earlier in the season you will be amazed how good they(greens)are now. Try the course again. Good luck.
great layout
great course loved layout. wish they would had some yardage markers for the holes with hazard of the tee
Greens are gone
The website warns about the greens being damaged but it does not do justice to the extent of the damage. They are not playable at present as the amount of grass on each green is probably 20% or less. Despite this the staff in the pro shop would not let me out anytime earlier than my appointed golf now hot deal time without extorting an additional $20 cart fee for the privilege of playing their winter destroyed course. Great layout, nice elevation changes, but no fun to be had until the greens recover.
Sub par
Not what I expect out of a country club. Awful greens!!!
nice course , atrocious greens
I understand what winter kill is and what it can do to greens , but it seems as if there has been no attempt to get the greens back, no aeration, no bone meal added, I waas told that there was some winter kill on the greens, but they are still charging a premium price, luckily we got in on a "hot deal" from golf now.
It is a very pretty course, good tee boxes and very nice fairways, some tricky shots if you dont know the course, i would love to play this course with good greens...hope the greenskeeper can get with a turf specialist to fix the greens
bad greens
Overall a very nice course but due to the awful conditions of the greens it was difficult to have a totally good experience other than the greens everything and person was fine
Brattleboro bummer
So the Winter of 2013-14 still rears it's ugly head even on June 16th. I figured to play this course as it was a half-way meeting place for a friend from upstate VT. As mentioned before, the greens have taken a beating. After the round I could only think of a few holes where I putted on 'real' grass. As it was a great value with golfnow, it didn't bug me as much as it would have paying full price. The course layout is typical VT hill course, with nice views, narrow fairways and blind shots to the green. Maybe because of the 3 days of rain beforehand, they might have been behind in cutting the fairways, as clumps of grass gave the course an overall ragged look. The bunkers were in top shape with proper sand mix.
I'm sure they are not the only VT course to have been ravaged by the harsh Winter, and the greens with proper care will bounce back, but for the rest of this year, I'll be playing back down here in Western Mass.
Will never return
I was treated like a low life form due to booking with Golfnow. The Proshop was rude and unwilling to let me go out 1 minute earlier then booked tee time, even with lots of open tee times before mine. He said your "Golfnow" like it was an insult.
The greens were hacked and the course is a Cowpasture. The normal rate was absurd for what the course is.
The club house had stacked broken tables and chairs on the porch and looks like a horders house.
Their use of the term "COUNTRY CLUB" is VERY liberal.
Nice Layout with lots of elevation changes. Good Green Complexes
Course was in good condition except for unputtable greens.Ice damage/winter kill.Give it a few months to come back to normal conditions . Always fun to play here.
Great views
Hilly course. Would be tough to walk. Spectacular views. Some narrow holes. Many have small fast greens with serious slopes and mounds making putting a real challenge.
Fun course
Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Greens were very fast. Felt pretty wide open and playable at any skill level.
Overall I enjoyed the round.
challenging terrain, good layout.
The course overall was in decent shape, but the greens had a lot ofspike marks, unrepaired ball marks, and many traps seemed to be unraked. Simple instructions from the pro-shop to people starting their rounds & a better presence of the course employees on the course could alleviate these types of issues.
Course features a good layout and some spectacular views.
The one complaint I would have is that we went out as a foursome, then a single,a twosome, and another single teed off behind us. Why didnt they pair anybody up or send them off the back nine? We ended up letting all three groups play through.
Difficult, but fun.
Difficult, but fun course to play. The greens were very fast. The course was in great shape and we had a terrific time.
