Bardstown Country Club - Maywood Course

I have to admit I am biased as I have loved this course since the beginning. The kind of course where if I shoot a good score for me I want to do it on a layout like this. Challenging and fun, not too difficult to play, but not easy either. You better be able to play all facets of this great game when you play Maywood. Worth 3 times the golfnow hot deal rate of $15 Grab some friends and check it out!

Maywood is much as I remember it when it was first opened. It is a fun layout that is in good to very good condition. Receptive greens, with nice fairways and challenging rough. I can't seem to get enough of it. Shot my best round in many years this date and cannot wait to go back.

I have played maywood 3 days consecutively. This course plays much like I remember it when it first opened. Greens are healthy and holding shots., fairways are in good shape and the rough is dry. Lots of fun as you have to golf your ball on this layout. I give it a 4 out of 5 so worth the trip.

Maywood is much improved since spring. It is in desperate need of rain I would still give it a 7 out of 10.

The course is much improved over last couple of years. Fairways were in great shape and mowed close. Rough was a little high but fair. Greens were in very good condition. Bunkers were all over the map... some had fresh sand and were great, some had fresh sand dumped in them but not spread yet, and some were nothing but hard-pan dirt. Still this course is one of my favorites in this area.

Maywood is in great condition ground keepers have done outstanding job. Now if the can take that team over to Woodlawn Springs that course would be a good course.

Most of the bunkers have been redone. Greens are fantastic. Few more changes to open up the course a bit more the have really added to the quality of the play.

I play Maywood course on a weekly basis, so much improved over last seasons conditions. Hats off to the greens keeping crew and management for their efforts!

Hats off to the greens keeper and crew at Maywood. Course is in much better shape than this time last year. What a difference a year makes. Great job!!! Greens were in great shape and rolled great and true to the lines.New sand and reworked bunkers. just a lot of work done on the course Overall the course is great shape and fun to play!!

Course is much better than last year. Greens are filled in 100% and roll great. Fairways have always been my favorite. You won't regret playing at Maywood.

This is a great course! It has five tee boxes for every level, very challenging from the blue and black especially if you are playing with women, the grill at Maywood is also outstanding, the blackened chicken and berry salad with poppyseed dressing is my all time favorite, so grab your friends and head out for a great time!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Par 3s on the back nine are beautiful and somewhat difficult. Course layout is scenic. Several rolling fairways add a links-style flavor. The rough is extremely hard to hit from so keep it in the fairways.

The greens are a lot better then when they let them go last year. A lot of focus on the greens and not so much every where else. Tee boxes and rough aren't cut very well

Wow, what a fantastic job the crew at Maywood has done! The greens this time last year were kind of a mess, but move forward one year and those same greens are well groomed carpet, smooth and rolling perfectly. Hats off Gang, although there is some Bunker work going on in places, the rest of the course played Great. Wide open fairways give way to Big Drives, and well placed approaches make for many birdie opportunities. Hole seven is always quirky, and tough to par if the tee shot does not land well in center of the fairway. Do not trust the yardage on 16, that Par three is only reachable with a 200 yard downhill shot that seems to carry forever, and watch that water, it is tricky. Love the Layout, the Clubhouse and Staff are Great, I always love playing Maywood, and this year you will too!!!!!

Most fairways have lots of bare spots. Tee boxes need grass. Rough is extremely thick making it hard to find ball if barely off fairway. Greens are slow and bouncy some even have dead spots on the greens. Overall course layout is attractive just needs a lot of work on the condition itself. Decent course if you can book a "hot deal" but not worth playing for full asking price

Traps need major attention... some fairways thin. Rough too high.. greens good !
