9th hole on Canyon. One of the most picturesque holes on the course. Tough hole that plays into the wind. Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017

Country club quality for public rates
Great course and awesome clubhouse and practice areas. Fast, firm, elevated greens. Bunkers have sand in them. Broad fairways. Thick rough and waste areas. A links style course nestled in the hills. An amazing golf museum inside the clubhouse. Food is great and priced fairly. My favorite course in the South Bay!
Favorite course in San Jose
Everything about this place is top notch. Despite how difficult it can seem, if you’re able to get off the tee safely and have a decent short game, you can post a good score here.
WORTH IT!!
This is one of the best public courses in the Bay Area. In my opinion, the best in San Jose without question. There are 27 holes, with 5 tee boxes. The course is divided into 3, 9 hole sections: Canyon, Lake, and Mountain. This is a very tough course for beginners. The first time I played there I was embarrassed by the fact that I couldn't hit the ball over the ravine/stream gap into play. I hit 3 balls off the tee. Two landed in the fairway of the parallel hole, and the other into the abyss. I was paired with a scratch golfer who was patient and didn't mind my excessive mulligans, until our pace of play was too slow and he went ahead alone. The fairways are green and well kept. The bunkers are soft sand, and the greens are fast. It's a beautiful course. I'd wait until you are at least a double bogey golfer before playing here, otherwise it'll kill your confidence and ruin your day. I can't wait until I can play this course we'll. I look forward to playing here again.
Amazing course. Greens were just punched though
I played right after aeration so cant speak towards greens but course was fantasic. Challenging and fun. A lot of elevation and walking even with a cart so would not suggest it to people with mobility issues
Still nice even after aeration
Great course and a nice round gets 5 stars even with no notice regarding punched greens, only paid 26 with a cart very happy thanks golfnow and cin management. Greens are still totally playable punched.
Must Play
For the money, you can’t beat it. If you don’t want to drop the cash for the big names in the area, you will have a blast here for under $100 during the week. I did! Super fun course.
Should've checked the weather report
I should've checked the weather report before I booked the round. I saw a hot deal for me and 2 other friends for only $41.99 each and jumped at the chance to play this beautiful course. I realized as I finalized the tee time my luck was most likely due to a last minute cancellation. Hence the price. This course is still a great deal when the price is double. I then wondered why 3 spots would cancel suddenly at such an incredible course, when I realized the clouds outside were starting to get thicker and darker by the minute. Realizing I wouldn't be refunded or given a rain check after I tee'd off, I decided to go for it. I immediately regretted this decision. It poured down so much, it looked and felt like I had gone swimming with my clothes on. My umbrella snapped in 2 pieces cause the wind was so strong. What was supposed to be a fun day with my boys turned into a miserable afternoon. In fact it was so miserable that I left after 12 holes. If you're thinking of booking a round, check the weather first. You'll thank me later.
In good shape. Good layout
Low handicaper. Course is in good shape. Not to long but difficult scoring with tough greens. Worth playing again. Could be tough for some as many tee shots have a min 100 yard carry.
