Good day at Cinnabar

Course conditions were fine, greens were fast and very firm. If you are a decent player, this course is worth the drive, as it is challenging yet, fun. Greens are so firm you won't see many divots when you land your approach shots, so be prepared.

Slow Play

I was very disappointed when the starter let a member who was almost ten minutes late for his tee time, tee off as a single before our foursome. He was supposed to catch up with his threesome but because he wasn’t very good it took him two holes to join his group. This delayed us from getting started for fifteen minutes and consequently we were Not Able To Finish Our Round because of darkness. This should have NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!

Amazing Service

I had made a tee time for 1:00 which gave just under 4 hours til dark. However since thr forecast was just a slight break in the arrival of another atmospheric river storm i thought the course would have less players than normal and a 4 hour round would allow me to finish. I asked the starter what the pace was and he said 4 1/2 hours and i was disappointed as I had not played the before and was hoping for a complete round. I explained that certain indiscretions in the 80's has kept me underemployed and can not often afford to play and this was going to be the nicest course Ive played. The pro shop moved me up 20 minutes` and I was very grateful as I thought I would only miss 1 or 2 holes and went off to the range to prepare. I was about 3 balls away from heading to the tee when the Pro Shop Rep pulled up in a cart and asked me if I would mind playing alone , which was fine, and told me to follow him. It was clear sailing and i finished just before dark thanks to him going over and above all expectations.
Fortunately i was on the short grass enough today to see that the course was in magnificent condition even after the rains the previous day and night. The greens were the fastest i can remember putting on and rolled true to aim. They were a fun challenge to read and the only course that I had to look at from all angles on every hole and still be a bit uncertain.
The exceptionality of the service and the challenge of the greens seemed to have my neurons firing at 110% and was overjoyed with a 35 -37 for my fourth round in 9 years

Dry Greens

They really need to rethink how fast the greens should be. It’s Not The US Open. It’s a Great Hard Test of Golf the way the layout is designed. Having the greens at 13, as dry and firm as they are, along with the slope of most of them makes them on the verge of being unfair. Plus it adds to the Slowness of pace of play. I Really Wish They Would Consider This.

Tricked Up Greens

Cinnabar needs to change their thinking about how fast and firm they keep their greens. The average golfer cannot putt these greens when they are 13 or 14 on the stimp meter. It slows the pace of play down tremendously. If you’re above the hole, good luck… When you combine the speed and the amount of slope that these greens have and the lack of water put on them, it makes it impossible to putt. It’s not the US Open!!!!
I don’t understand their train of thought. Golf is hard enough as it is, but when you trick up the greens it makes it unfair for the average player.

The wind was Brutal

This golf course is hard enough without any wind. When the wind blows it makes the golf course so much harder. The greens are so slippery and fast. It really challenges your putting skills. I can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful Golf Course

The wind was blowing hard which made the course even more difficult than it usually is. The greens were So Fast and challenging, even the wind had an effect on putts. Can’t wait to play there again.

Top Course

I would rate this as my second best course played in Bay Area after Half Moon Bay! Played Mountain and lake courses, wish to play Canyon Course in the future. Staff was friendly and the starter hut was also friendly and cooperative. Ease of booking with Golf Now was amazing! Thanks a lot!

Great golf course!

This course is quite demanding but fair. You have to really select proper clubs for every shot because the greens are super fast and demand perfect pace. It's an amazing piece of property and every ho!e is unjque. It should be in everyone's list in the Bay area! The only hiccup was the fact we finished about 15 minutes late from when carts were due at 6:15, but we were never informed of this at check in.. With a 2:40 fee time we got to the 18th in minimal light but managed to finish at 6:25. Yes, the pace of play Monday afternoon was great! We received a text on our screen that the carts are due for return in a timely manner. I figured playing the last hole quickly in 10 minutes was "timely" for the return. The course rep met us driving in from the last hole and sco!red us for being late. He insisted we were told to return carts by 6:15, but we never were. I told him this and said that it was news to us but that we would make sure in future rounds we would respect the finish time if we are notified when we check in.

Excellent course

Definitely the premier public golf course in the South Bay. Great shape but tough. Would say for more of a mid to low handicap player or gonna be frustrating. Course is in fantastic shape and greens are fast. Very fast. Excellent bunkers and beautiful views. They have great happy hour specials and food has always been delicious. Sometimes service is a little slow. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Highly recommend to challenge a consistent player.
