The back nine was closed. The front greens had been aerated and covered with sand. Never advised of the conditions prior to booking the tee time.
Views of the Ocean
I love this course and have been playing it for two decades. Just don't play it after a week or two of rain. It has been pretty soggy in the month of March. Otherwise have at it!
The Flash Greens
First time on this course and let me tell you it is BEAUTIFUL! When I went to play, there was a tournament going on so it slowed down the pace of play. But other than that had a great time!
great course
love it. great people and fun course and great condition. Traps a little suspect.
Great views
Great views, decent conditions, get the tuna melt!
Bad course condition
The course really need some proper maintenance. Fairway looks bad, frost on green, and tee box is not trimmed either. They charge us $108 per person. Not worthy.
Challenging course, awesome staff, very slow play.
It was our first time playing this course. Challenging, but a nice layout and scenic! The staff was awesome, from the clubhouse, starter to the cafe person. Unfortunately, we got behind a tournament and barely finished, I'm talking dark moonlight! We had to wait at every tee box! Took 5.5 hours! No fun. I should’ve asked for a credit.
Aerated greens
Annoyed they didnt state the greens were done early this week. They should have discounted rates as the greens were all sand. Course layout was pretty interesting
Should be closed
Booked this course and was not informed that the greens had been covered in sand and there were only 9 holes to play. When I asked about this the pro shop only stated " it's golf now we do not have to say that." The course was unplayable and impossible to putt. When I called the next tat day is manager said "nothing we can do." The bad reviews you read about this course are true. Do not waste your money.
Back 9 closed
Warning the back 9 is closed… and no one, not even the starter told me until I made the turn. And I found out from another golfer at the turn. So you replay front. Makes for a crazy round as it slows down and speeds up. …I got behind a group of 5 ladies on the “second 9” that played like they were gambling for $100 a hole. And they wouldn’t let me play through.
The condition of this course is consistently bad. This is the 3rd time playing Glenn Annie. I’ve played it in three different “CA seasons” and the conditions just don’t change. Don’t bother playing out of the bunkers. They are natural dirt and rocks. Not worth damaging a club face. The fairways are poorly maintained. I’m not expecting private club conditions but it should be at equal levels of Alisal and SB courses. Tee boxes look like a football game occurred on each one.
I want this place to succeed. But they have to set a plan to produce a better quality product for the green fees rates they post.
Great Course, Pace of Play is slow
We thoroughly enjoyed the course shooting 79 a pair, but the groups in front of us took mulligans every hole on top of taking their sweet time to search for their ball in the deep rough. Other than this, we will be back!
Overpriced and disappointing for $108
This course has seen better days. The layout for the back nine is fun and requires strategy. The front nine is mediocre. The sand bunkers should be roped off and not be part of gameplay anymore as they are very neglected and equivalent to a dry lake bed. Tee boxes are frustrating to play because they are very bumpy and no one repairs the diviots and pot holes or dry patches. This course is clearly neglected and wouldn’t be such an issue but it’s cost $108 to play during the afternoon. I work hard and this seems unfair to charge so much when the course is so neglected.
Someone needs to investigate the management and figure out why they’re NOT conducting proper course management but continue to raise prices. We only have a few courses in town and Glenn Annie is not a course that’s inviting locals by offering reasonable prices and encouraging locals to play unless you’re retired with excessive money burning a hole in your pocket.
Excellent experience
Beautiful layout. Friendly staff. Very reasonable pace of play. Excellent experience. Totally worth the money.
Gave it a 2nd chance; same terrible conditions
This place is ridiculous. It’s a goat track. Traps are just raw hardpan with rocks. Fairways haven’t seen water seen the last rain in April. The tee boxes are cratered and even like surface of the moon. The greens looked they Harney been cut for 2 weeks. ….For the price, just play other courses. You will thank me.
