Worth the money,
Good challenge, good conditions, solid course. One of my favorites to play in the Raleigh area since I moved down in August. It's a bit of a Drive, but worth it.
I got out at as a single at 9:10 a.m. on a Sunday, and was done before noon. Decided to play another 18, and was done with that by 3:00 p.m. Sooooo I decided to try one more 18. Unfortunately the front 9 was packed at that time. So I just drove through a bunch of groups until the 10th hole where I joined up with a twosome who was waiting on the box. They were kind enough to let me join. I was done with that 9 by 5:30 p.m. Needless to say, the replay rate of $20 is fantastic. Especially if you can get out at a time where the course isn't too busy. 45 holes on a Sunday? Not bad for $80 bucks.
Nice Track
This was my second time playing the course. Well worth the hour drive from Clayton, especially with a hot deal for $37. I just moved to NC from NY and this course would easily be in the $80-$90 range up there.
Fast, but fair greens. Fairways and tee boxes are in great shape. Bunkers are fine.
It's definitely a challenging course and you can get into trouble if you don't know where to hit it. Cart GPS or a yardage book would be really helpful for first timers. Since this was my second time playing here, I was lucky to know some of the positions I had to put myself in to score well.
I would've given it a 4.5 overall if I could, but unfortunately GolfPass only allows a 4.
My only complaint this time was the pace of play. It seemed fine on the front 9, but then it slowed down considerably on the back. There were a couple of groups ahead of us that slowed the entire course down.
No better value
This course is in great shape, such good shape I lost a couple balls in the rough. Fairways are a must. Fast and true rolling greens allows you to sink more putts.
must play on your way to Myrtle Beach
right off I-95, better than any course we played at Myrtle
Absolutely Stunning
This course was the nicest golf course I have ever played. My dad and I stopped here on our way home from Myrtle Beach. We were shocked by the course conditions. The grass was perfect and the layout was awesome. Each hole was isolated in miles of woods. Zero complaints about the course. The staff was friendly and the driving range was mint as well. This course is a MUST and for a great price. Just don’t take my tee times
Excellent course with discount
One of my favorite courses especially if there is a hot deal or discount. Full price is around $50 for 18 holes and that's a bit much in my opinion only. $40 ish is a fair price. There is no turn at the clubhouse from #9 to #10 so eat before you go. There is a beer and nabs cart that comes around which helps.
Always a pleasure to play
The conditions are top notch with smooth fast greens. I travel from Raleigh and this place doesn’t disappoint. Play here!!
No customer service (need training)
I have played here several times on my way to Myrtle Beach. I will never stop here again.
I scheduled my round on golfnow as i have on several other occasions. This is the first time i ever saw that they offered a senior rate. So i scheduled 1 senior at the discounted rate.
The arrived about 20 minutes earlier than i expected and went into the pro shop to pay. . The guy said 1 senior. I said yes since i recently i just turned 57. The guy said okay and quoted the regular price, saying your not a senior. I tried explaining that my home course its 55. Hey didn't want to hear anything. He said it's not our senior age. I than asked why i wasn't getting the regular golfnow rate which was less than full price. He said that's not what you booked and you missed represented your age. It's full rate. The pro or manager was no help, do to they were hiding in there office. At that point i just said the forget t and i left. I will never stop here again if it's still there.
Belmont Lakes First Timer
We played an early round on Saturday morning. It had rained a couple of inches the night before so we were bummed for the cart path only which made for a sluggish but still under 4-hour round. However, the course itself made up for the soggy track. I don’t think I had any shots where there wasn’t plush grass under the ball (except for my two punch outs!). Fairways were really smooth as well as the greens. The greens weren’t as fast as I hoped but they putted true to the read. Maybe they didn’t get a mow in due to the rain the day before. Aside from the hour drive from Raleigh, I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a scenic and challenging 18-holes of golf on a well-manicured course. And the price sealed the deal. Will definitely come back to play this track again! Thanks Belmont Lakes
You can’t pretend to be a senior and expect special rates when you’re called out for your misrepresentation
