A hidden gem, not far from Melbourne
I should start by declaring that I am a longstanding member (25 years plus) and a member of the club committee.
When I found this listing, I was surprised that nobody had posted a review. So here goes.
We are a small country club approx 75km North of Melbourne (heading up the Calder to Bendigo)
The par 66 course is not long but extremely challenging in the it is undulating with small greens that have lots of break.
Our signature hole is the 11th. Here is someone else's take on it.
The par 66 score is rarely broken, in fact in the 1st round of our club championships last week the best score was 70.
If you are looking for a quick round (sub 3 hours is not unheard of) or a game on a Saturday (when most clubs wont allow green fee players), Woodend is the course for you. Mid week there are rarely any players about and you would have it to yourself.
Bookings are rarely required but if coming on a weekend, please call the club on (03) 5427 2261 to make sure you are not held up.
Motorised carts are also available for those who might be a bit intimidated by the hills.
