Brutal conditions
Played today with 2 friends. How this course is open is beyond me .I know the weather has been poor and expect the ground to be soft ,but when u play the ball up the fairway it was plugged it was that soft .a few temporary greens which is normal this time of year but you couldn't even putt on them . Course should not be open when it is that bad .
Great staff, poor course
Lovely staff, poor course.
Lovely staff, asked for change of a fiver to get a trolley in the bar and they gave me £1. Very friendly and welcoming. The course however was very wet and boggy, had rained an hour before I played but drainage was poor, with alot of surface water. Would play again but only on a very dry day.
Terrible condition
Course has a great layout but unless you hit the fairway, you had a 50/50 chance of losing your ball from in being plugged.
No signage between holes, just to let you know which hole had preference or what tier the green was on (which was wrong).
Has been a very wet winter but this was miserable at times and it was a dry day.
Some holes , the only dry walk way was through the rough.
18 holes
Course was in immaculate condition. Credit to the green keepers. Had a great day. Definitely value for money .
First and Last
Booked a 10:20am tee off time for the Monday morning. Phoned to ask if the course was open, as the weather had been bad for previous couple of days. I was told it was and that the course was very wet.
On arrival to the course the pro shop was locked up and there was no staff in the clubhouse. It was my first time visiting the Cliftonville course. I couldn’t get any score cards, Mats, or any information on the course.
In the end I noticed I guy hanging about the car park. Who turned out to be waiting on someone to play golf with. I ask him about the course layout. The course itself was completely flooded. It was badly marked out, and the wasn’t a groundsman or green keeper about. It took just over two hours to play 9 holes due to the conditions. I ended up not playing the next 9 due the state of the course. As I was leaving I wanted to call in to the club shop to speak to someone. However it was still locked up. In my opinion the course should offered to rearrange my tee time or offer a refund when I initially phoned.
Definitely won’t be in a hurry to go back.
Waterlogged
Course was waterlogged so bad only made it round 6 holes. Not worth the money. No signposts to guide you around the course. Poor layout. No picture of course layout. Way overpriced for what it is
Good course
Only complaint is the fairway grass could do with being a bit shorter otherwise great
Great 9 hole course
Really enjoyed playing the course. Well lates out and in good condition. Would definitely recommend it.
October 2021
Fantastic course for the price. In good condition, especially the greens.
Good variety of holes
Course is well laid out and provides a good challenge unfortunately due to thunder and lightning we could not finish our round
