Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club
About
Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club (formerly known as Sugar Cane Golf Club), as its name would imply, sprawls across western Palm Beach County's vast sugar cane fields. Opened in 1987, the golf course features mature landscaping and a classic design that is challenging but playable. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also numerous strategically placed traps concentrated along the greensides. One of the best aspects of the golf course that makes it stand out from others in Palm Beach County is the peace and quiet offered by its secluded setting. Golfers are surrounded by wildlife including alligators and bald eagles rather than cars and homes. It is one of the county's best-kept secrets.

This course is unplayable !
To get to the front n9, you had to drive the cart about 1/4 mile down a side road
The hole markers were so bad that you could not read them which made it difficult to stay on course
Some of the holes had 6 ft high pond reeds 25 ft in front of the tee box so you could not see the fairway let alone the green
The 8th hole had a big palm tree directly in front of the tee box out about 25 ft.. If you hit this tree with your tee shot, the ball was going to come straight back at you This one was scary to keep your head down and swing
The back 9 was full of pot hole depressions all over the fairways. My back was sore from being jarred in the cart and I lost 12 balls because they would hit a depression in the fairway and bounce wildly some where
The bottom line is be careful if you play this course.
You are going to get very frustrated and feel like you just went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson
florida
Nice small golf course. The only thing was painted greens, not good
belle
The weather was a little chilly and windy.
The greens were not in good shape, but everything else was fine.
glade
Front nine easier than the back. The back has a lot of water. Interesting drive to first hole. Got lost on the front nine, I think I played an extra hole. Worth the money.
Bang for your buck
At this time of year, you can’t find anywhere more cheap and enjoyable than Belle glade. It’s a small place, but you’re in nature and it’s quiet. It’s away from everything just like how golf should be. They also allow groups of more than 4 players if you call ahead. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to play a peaceful game of golf for under $40 year round. It definitely beats paying $90 to play on a course with slightly better conditions.
Mich disappointed about thiscourse
Drove more than an hour to get to this course. Only played 9 holes because i was too desapointed with the layout. Greens are about one inch long no cut. Fairways look like the rough on my own course. Tre box were ok. No indication for the cart path, overall bad experience . Will not waste my time going there no more. Experience golfers do not waste your time
Great little layout,
If you’re accustomed to perfectly manicured courses this place isn’t for you. If you like a beautiful layout with tons of scenery and nature, you’ve found it. Now that I’ve become a little more familiar with this track I can confirm it’s wide open layout forces you to play target golf. Sure it’s not the most perfectly groomed course but it’s fun and challenging.
I recommend giving it a go……..
Disappointed
I play here a lot. Last week I gave a 5 star review. So invited family to come play. Big mistake. The course was unplayable. It’s a shame because it could be so good. The greens although pretty and thick with grass the rolled like 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. Putting was a joke. The fairways were so long we lost 3 balls from tee shots in the fairway. Needless to say my family not impressed.
Very pretty
This course truely comes down to the superintendent if he decides to cut the greens 5 star if not 3 star I would call and ask before driving out. Great layout great conditions when the greens have been cut
Nice little track
We really enjoy this little course, just wish it was kept up a little better.
Horrible
The course is a mess. The 8:30 tee time sent our threesome out at 8:45 behind a group of 6 and another group of 4. No ranger to check the speed of play.
The greens were all torn up. The fairways needed a cutting. I quit after 8 holes and 2-1/2 hrs of slow play. I won’t be back.
less then 3 hours …..
- was the first tee time at 7:20 a - and didn’t see anybody until I was done the first 9 holes …
played two balls most of the day and I saw every few people when I was done. it’s a little bit of a drive, but I enjoyed the course / greens are a little slow but overall a great experience. The two ladies at the office were extremely nice. I’ll definitely play again.
Great day in sugar cane country
Great day again on the sugar cane links greens are good fairways are fair and the rough ain't so you know😆 ......
