Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club
About
Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club (formerly known as Sugar Cane Golf Club), as its name would imply, sprawls across western Palm Beach County's vast sugar cane fields. Opened in 1987, the golf course features mature landscaping and a classic design that is challenging but playable. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also numerous strategically placed traps concentrated along the greensides. One of the best aspects of the golf course that makes it stand out from others in Palm Beach County is the peace and quiet offered by its secluded setting. Golfers are surrounded by wildlife including alligators and bald eagles rather than cars and homes. It is one of the county's best-kept secrets.

Great Billy Course
If you want to get away from the Palm Beaches to golf and have a great time, this is it. No frills, no 5 hour rounds, nobody expecting $5 to put a dirty towel on your clubs. Great value. Just don't expect great greens.
Diamond in the rough
First time playing this course. A friend and I drove from palm beach gardens because I was recommended to this course by numerous people. 12/10 for the course.
Front 9 - easy, fun, confidence booster.
Back9 - gorgeous layout/views, blind fairways (playing it again will make it easier to choose better shot/positioning).
The price made the 45 minute drive worth every minute. The staff was very chill and laid back (we are not good golfers, but we try to have fun), which is how I prefer instead of the snobs we are all used too. Will continue to come back to this course at least 1x a month.
Quirky but fun
Good value for money.
Longest ride to the first tee ever.
Fun to play.
Greens in horrible condition
This is our winter go to course because of price and not usually over crowded.
however the greens were pretty much unplayable. We also only paid &16.50 where as other courses in South Florida are close or over $100
What happened to the back 9 greens ?
I play the course a few times every year because of the price. This time was different.
The front 9 of the course is what I expected- tee/fairways/greens….make the turn and for whatever reason the back 9 greens are unplayable!
Suggestion - close the back nine and play the front twice.
Good fun
Greens were a little better today.
I really think you need to put a temporary green in on hole number 10. You could mark a 2-1/2 foot circle for a one putt and everything else is a two put. You need to let that green heal and grow.
Hidden Gem
Have to agree with my playing partner 4314159801039 that it was well worth the hour drive to Belle Glade. Didn't take advantage of the $2 dogs but did grab that amazing 6 pack deal of coldies. Refreshing change of pace to the several martin county courses we play frequently that have been a zoo with people on the tee sheets and peak season rates busting the ceiling so far in 2024. My biggest take away aside from the views was that I didn't have a bad lie the entire round. Fairways were soft but the ball refused to sit down.
Belle Glade
Little hidden gem! Greens and tee boxes could use some love but fairways were in great condition. Greens are small with some bare spots but rolled true otherwise. Great dog and beer prices too. I live an hour away but I'll make that drive again 🤙🏼
Professional group of 4 in front of us……
There’s a first time for everything…… the group of 4 professionals that were in front of us were very good at taking the time to measure putts to make sure no one played out of order. They were also very skilled at playing from left or right of the hole they were playing. I don’t know maybe it’s a new format I’m not familiar with, you know play the hole but make sure you don’t hit the fairway, I don’t know just spitballing here. My personal favorite was when they sat by the green and held court after every hole.
All in all I love this little gem of a course.
Always Unique
May not be the next best course but there's something about Belle Glade Municipal..Each year I have to take my ride through the Sugar Cane fields to play the track .... sometimes two to three times...
Greens need help
Layout is very nice, and tees and fairways and bunkers are all in nice condition. Problem was the greens. On the front, they were soft and slow, but perhaps tolerable. On the back they were a disaster with dead spots all over the place. Putts would bounce around all over the place. It was pure luck if you made a putt. Pace was not too bad, but it seemed like people were reluctant to let smaller or faster groups play through. Before playing, I would check with the course or other reviews to see if the greens have improved.
Fun
Look it’s a great little track. Fairway grass is there just long. Some tee box’s are excellent some are horrible.front side greens are ok need cut. Backside greens very poor. For the $s it’s a great value
Always a good time.
I’ve said it before, this is a nice little track with a good mix of target golf, challenging golf and swing away golf.
Great little track
Once again we had a blast, this is a nice little course with a few challenging holes. The wind can make even more of the holes challenging. A couple of holes must be played as target golf or you’ll bring trouble into play.
Over all a fun course for any level golfer.
