loved it
greens were great, tee box's good and fairways slightly soft underfoot but played perfect.
Sad Shannon Park
How sad to be back at Shannon Park and see that like many other courses no one cares about the condition it has fallen into.
It would have also been nice to know the greens were sanded and hollow tined when making a booking. We would not have played. We had to play preferred lies and hundreds of areas on the fairways and tees were bare mud and no attempt to mark as GUR. Many parts have been shaved over the summer but no attempt to reseed or mark out was evident. There are some great holes at Shandon Park and it could be one of the most prestigious clubs in the Belfast area.
Super greens
Some of the best greens we've played on all summer. Course held up well considering the rain we've had. Friendly staff. Will happily play again
Nice course
Nice layout, fast greens, some very nice par 3s. Longest wait was for a pint after in the clubhouse. Service slow but nice pint
Needs some improving
Its a course I've played several times and enjoy. Not too short or long.
Tee boxes (often over looked on a course) and fairways where in excellent condition. Greens I expect need a few more weeks as they appeared to be hollow tinned not too long ago. I would expect them to be excellent in a few weeks.
Very disappointed in the bunkers. Virtually no sand in them
Course
Course is a challenge and good lay out . A little wet in places like most courses after the winter weve had . Enjoyed it cheers.
The only bad things were the greens had just been sanded and if we had of known this we would have went somewhere else. The golf course was a nice layout and in good enough condition considering the wet weather we've had this year, it was a bit wet in places but what golf course isn't at the minute. Will probably play again sometime in the summer.
One of the best courses in northern ireland
We played shandon the day after we had very heavy rain. Course was very wet but we still enjoyed our round which was great value at £12 each. We also enjoyed a light refreshment in the very impressive clubhouse after our round
Lovely course
We thought the course was lovely and very scenic. Our only gripes were that I have never seen so many lawnmowers and tractors operating during play. We had one hole with peace and quiet and the rest we were held up waiting on the lawnmower to move out of our way or they sat beside the greens with engines revving or beside tee boxes with tractors with huge blowers clearing leaves. It was really quite annoying and off putting. Also as we came near the end and close to the club house we were cut up by members who obviously only wanted to play a few holes but had no etiquette and held us up. All in all a great course and lightning quick greens but a few issues ruined it for us.
Fast Greens
Great course basically in the city centre, greens were running fast and true!
24 July
Excellent sunny day and despite teeing off close to 12, the course was very quiet - 2 hours, 45 minutes for the 18 (albeit I was playing by myself).
Course was in pretty good condition, no real areas of GUR, a couple of greens that need attention, especially the front of the third green. Other than that, the course looked great on a sunny day.
Staff at the pro shop very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend.
Great condition
After a few hard months credit to the staff, course was in great shape!
Great value and not far to travel.
Played a round today in great conditions course was in outstanding nick. Some tricky hazards could be more effectively marked but doesn't drystone from the quality course that it is. If you can get it on a hot deal I highly recommend you give it a go.
Great course
Despite recent wet conditions the course was in fantastic condition. Really nice course and will be going again - soon.
Enjoyable Round!!
A 18 hole parkland course situated 3 miles from Belfast city centre, would recommend anyone to try it out!
Very nice course in good condition
nice challenging course and excellent facilities.
Distance markers are extremely difficult to see unless standing on them, above ground markers such as crosses used in North America would most welcome by visitors ( and perhaps by members).
Fantastic..
