Boca Greens Country Club

I hadn’t played this course in years, it used to be a top level course with a challenging layout and excellent conditions.

On Saturday the conditions were atrocious. Huge bare spots all over the fairways and very soft turf underneath. I couldn’t hit a decent shot other than off the tee most of the round and it just wasn’t fun at all.

I wouldn’t play the course for free in its current condition.

Front nine is in embarrassing condition. Entire hole looks like a bunker with the real bunkers feeling like it’s beach sand with rocks and a concrete foundation.

If ownership would just spend a little money on the course and cart paths, they could have a special course.

The good: The staff was excellent, they were friendly, courteous, timely in getting you out onto the course and may even remember your name when you’re done. The course layout is challenging, well bunkered and be sure to choose your correct tees for your ability if you want to score well.
The bad: Overall course conditions went form fair to worse as the round progressed. Tee boxes for the most part were playable, fairways were hard, thread bare, and in need of aeration and over-seeding several times over. The greens are riddled with weeds, spotted damage on all and in some areas severe damage, the 10th green is nearly gone about if nothing is done it will be beyond repair. Most of the greens on the backside have faired poorly. I’m guessing they don’t have a greenskeeper on staff (sadly).
The ugly: the restaurant is gone, closed, the buildings need to be raised and cleared away. The right group should be able to bring it back to life and restore it to former glory…I can only hope.

Having said all that the course will challenge your game and for the price it’s worth a shot.

Course is just in a rough condition… a lot of the greens got weeds sprouting out. Has a lot of potential just needs a good amount of love shown to get the conditions back to where they should be.

The course has been in better condition in the past. Some of the greens need a bit of work. Also the greens in the past have been faster, wish they still were. Some bold spots in the fairways too. Still overall the course is fun to play

Fairways not plush bald spots ( many). Greens have been much better in the past. Now im not a pro but but would love to play this course again when conditions are improved.

First things first, i am not a pro and i know things happen, i usually go with the flow, that said, I arrived 25 min early and went out late due to 9 people coming in late and still being allowed to go out as a 4 some and 5some in front of us players who were on time. I am a 52 yr old man and was paired up with a twosome of 2 women who were both in their 70s and drove the ball less than 50 yards . I feel they could do better pairing people up. The course itself is in ok condition but the greens were damaged with ball marks and weeds growing everywhere, very hard to putt. Found out they will not book 9 hole rounds and they will also not allow walking. So that’s boca greens. I like the people who work there but II think it’s time to look elsewhere for me…

By no means is this course in great condition but much better than some recent reviews would indicate. The greens had sand as a topping for bad spots and they were rolling quite well and in overall decent condition. The tee boxes could use some minor gardening but otherwise ok. Fairways and rough were good overall. Much better conditions than Woodmont.The layout is really nice and challenging. Staff very friendly overall.

Worst golf couse I have ever spend money on .Ugly tee offs, ugly fairways, ugliest greens ever.
We were pushed around by the staff to start on number 10 out of order prior to our tee time. It was an absolute disaster.
This course should be closed and sold for real estate.
