Bad Summer for the Greens?
Couldn't believe the state of the greens. Very patchy.
Lost bslls on fairways
To be fair the weather has been wet and the grass was longer than normal. But it's still very frustrating to hit a decent shot down the middle of a fairway and you cant find your ball! That happened to both my playing partner and myself a few times.
Also, slow play from a group of teenagers in front of us.
Course a bit confused
Club pro not very welcoming, seemed amused at our half sets of clubs (we had flown to Ireland the previous day). Course has a weird setup, holes don’t flow from one to the next, almost like tees had been reassigned. Wouldn’t return. There are nicer courses within reach.
Warrenpoint Golf Club
First time playing here.
Nice enough course but overpriced for what it is. £30 on a damp Tuesday morning was a bit much.
Course is in decent condition for the time of year and not too wet overall.
Not a fan of the fact that 3 of the 4 opening holes are Par 5s. Takes away from the course a bit.
3/5 overall is a fair estimate in my opinion given the price. £20 at most is a fair reflection for an early mid week round.
Would not hurry back, I had a four ball in front of me from the first hole, I was playing on my own, I left the course on the 9th hole, over 2 hours to play 9 holes, very ignorant 4 ball, waste of money and time
First time at Warrenpoint
First met pro in shop. Transaction done, little said, told the rules & out the door.
Course in good condition generally considering poor weather recently.
Delayed a bit longer than necessary at one hole by maintenance man who was blowing leaves off the front apron of the green.
Disappointed that we could not get a cup of tea after 3pm in the bar/restaurant which looked a pleasant place. Barman very friendly & apologetic & recommended place to eat in town.
I would return to play there.
2nd outing and still enjoying
As per title, it was our second outing on this course. We all really liked playing here, and will be back again. Plenty of rain and still course played well.
Pleasantly surprised
I wasn't really expecting this course to be so nice. My playing partner and I were delighted. Car park and club house a bit bland, but, that doesn't bother me. We loved the layout of each hole. Nothing crazy on the course just for the sake of it. Some lovely views. This course is top of the list to play again. Nothing bland about this golf course.
The course was in excellent condition. I have just one small complaint. The signage for the Tee boxes could be better. It was not easy at times to know where the next Tee box was located.
Excellent course
Excellent course in fantastic condition some very challenging holes highly recommended
Very unfair review as there was only one thing wrong. You should have ask them to play on through or just told them to feck off.
