Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Challenging course, but lots of fun

Greens were air rated two days before our play, so true putting was difficult. Greens were a good size. Green fees were very reasonable considering the course. I will play it again and recommend it to friends visiting Hilton Head.

Better than advertised!

I knew the course was highly ranked but I like so many courses in the island that I never made it to bludgeon before to play this wonderful treat! Sorry it took so long!
Challenging but fair- and a good range to get warmed up. Solid everyday conditions including greens in good shape that pitted well. One of the best all time values!

Nice day in the heat

Played the day after heavy rains. Cart path only. Course was in excellent condition. Greens are challenging and needed “local knowledge “. Enough water and traps to keep it interesting. Water stations on every three holes. Much needed and appreciated. Good value. I’ll be back.

One of the best courses in the HH area

This is one of the toughest courses I’ve played in the Hilton Head area. It is very challenging yet was a lot of fun to play. The course has well placed sand traps and has plenty of water. The course is surrounded with beautiful views and is a course I will definitely come back and play again.

The only downside was that most of the tee boxes could use a little TLC. Other than that - one of the top courses in the Hilton Head area.

Nice greens

Course and greens were in great condition. Cart paths were rough, but the great conditions made up for it. Best greens we played in our 5 rounds.

Decent Track, Not Superb

Course is in decent shape. Greens are fine, consistent but not superb. Fairways are ok. This course must get a lot of play because the common approach areas in fairways show lots of divots. The White tee boxes are not good, especially on the Front Nine-many are dirt and sandy with very little grass. Course Amenities are great. Water stations and Restrooms are plentiful. Clubhouse is very nice with all the things one desires, from pro shop to bar and dining room. Practice facility and range are fine also. Overall a good value if you can get a Hot Deal time or cheaper afternoon time for less than $50. I would not pay any more.

Great course, great layout, great conditions

Really liked this course. Every thing on the course was in great condition. Only odd thing is paying extra for range balls, never had that down here in HHI area, also the hitting area on the range was basically just sand with sparse grass on it. No big deal though. Greens are lush, fairways are in good condition. Tee boxes are average to good. First time seeing the course and shot an 83. The layout is great for any level of golfer depending on which tees you play.

Rainy start, but still great.

We played through rain on the first few holes, but it didn’t dampen our experience. The staff was great. We really enjoyed the layout. The conditions were as good or better than the other courses in the area that we played. We look forward to returning.

Course was in real good shape. A few fairways had some thin spots but overall was very enjoyable. A lot of variations between holes. Will test all of your skills! Would definitely recommend it to play!!

Good value, good challenge

Arnold Palmer track that will make you pay attention to all your drives and most of your approach shots. The staff was very helpful and the putting greens were in great shape. Cart paths could use some work but it was a course I would play again

Great track but needing more care to make it top-notch

Very much enjoy playing Crescent Pointe for the challenges, literally on every hole. Played from the White tees (6050 yards / slope 132). Each hole is gorgeous, there is water on most of them, the greens and fairways are well bunkered. Visually, one is challenged to keep the ball in play, but most fairways open up to provide a landing zone - one just has to hit it there.
We were disappointed with the condition of the tee boxes on most holes, as well as the fairways on the front nine. The back nine is in much better condition.
The greens roll very true and have some deceptive breaks - they are large as well.
It's a good price when getting a Hot Deal - normal rates are a bit high when comparing conditions with other public courses in the area.
Very friendly / helpful staff.

Fairways on front side not in good shape. Back side in better condition. Greens rolled good. Definitely not worth the price they are changing. I wouldn’t pay over 60 to play this course. Conditions have deteriorated since the last time I played here.
