Crescent Pointe Golf Club
About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Played with 3 retired PO's from NYPD. Had a great time, course was very fair in good shape. Had a great round and was pleased since the day prior I wasted $170 on one of the 'resort' courses near the Omni hotel. Should have saved my $ and played here both days, would have had a much better time. Thanks for everything
Beautiful!
I really like the layout of course, it was challenging and rewarding. I would definitely recommend this course to my golfing buddies. The only complaints I have is that some of the tee boxes look a bit rough and some of the racks are old. Some were flimsy and starting to splinter causing some fiberglass to get on your hands.
I will play this course a couple of more times while I am down here.
Improving
Good layout and luckily new ownership. Greens are getting better and traps are good. Fairways dormant Bermuda. Over seeding would be nice. Tees are dirt but they are working on them as well. It did rain heavily on Monday but still cart path only on Wednesday for no good reason. Not going to damage fairways.
Great layout
Course layout was great, staff was exceptional. Tee boxes need a little help would be my only critique.
Needs work.
Tee box turf nonexsitent. Fairways and rough very thin. Greens adequate.
Save Your Money
We hadn't played in awhile so I wanted to kind of warm up on a less expensive course. Well, you get what you pay for on a golf course in Hilton Head. The tee boxes were mostly torn up, and the fairways were like hitting off dirt. I will say the greens weren't bad and rolled fairly true. My wife mentioned that she had never played a course in worse shape. I have played worse but that was a long, ong time ago.
New course
Crescent Pointe really needs some TLC. It is a challenging layout but in such poor condition that it takes away from the pleasure of playing it.
First Time Playing
Course was in very good condition considering it was cart path only. Greens were absolutely fantastic which was surprising for early February. Front nine pace of play was very fast but back nine we waited on almost every hole. If you are looking for a challenging and reasonably priced course, book a tee time here.
Tough course
Course is not in good condition. But it’s obvious that it’s challenging and could be really nice with some TLC. It was cart path only so that only made it even more difficult.
Course needs some work
Very friendly staff greeted us. Tee time was exact But the corse needs a big improvement
Now writing this during the first week in February and realize that things will naturally improve
Hope to play again there in a few weeks to see the improvement
1st round of the New Year 2024
No grand illusions about my play considering it was my first round of the year , 2024 nor the course conditions considering the time of year . The tee boxes were disorganized and in fair condition. However, the greens rolled true. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. Overall, Crescent Point provided good value for money for this particular area.
What a difference a day makes
The last time I played this course, about 2 years ago, it was sadly in need of some care. This time most holes were in good shape. Keep it up!
