Course was closed despite website not saying so and ability to book online
I appreciate a third of the course was resumed by RMS. However, the course was closed. A solitary sign near the first tee. From there you can see there’s no green for the proposed new 5th hole. Really poor to take payment for an online booking and no mention on the club’s website course closed. I see other courses (eg Fox Hills, Gerringong, Port Kembla) state on their respective websites that course is closed. One of my 4 ball drove from Avalon and another from Maroubra. A refund is in order.
Temporary greens and dishonesty
Golf Now booking site said 1 temporary green so I booked. When I arrived, Pro said 2 temporary greens but we were already there so we played. Played 9 holes and discovered there were 3 temporary greens. Grass was cut no shorter than regular fairway. 1/3 of the course.
Slightly reduced green fees but dishonest, totally misleading advertising. Feel completely duped.
Course
Difficult now there are only5 real holes to play. A good walkthough
Course impacted by civil works
There are 3-4 temporary holes in play due to civil works being undertaken. This has resulted in temporary greens to replace some of the holes on the back nine holes.
Course layout heavily affected by roadworks
Lots of interruption due to hole closures from nearby roadworks. Multiple holes have ‘temporary greens’ that are just flags in the middle of the fairway. Wouldn’t play again until course is reset to its usual layout/quality - is great when it’s at it usual layout.
Wait until course work completed
For a 9 hole course 3 temporary greens is too many. Otherwise very pleasant walk and well maintained. Impossible to judge amenities etc during Covid.
Fun bash
Due to the course being only 9 holes and the NSW Govt taking the land for tunnels works the course is just good for a bash, nothing serious as there are now only 8 holes and 3 temporary holes. Bit of fun for $20
