Modesto Municipal Golf Course

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the greens for it being a Muni course. Sad to hear it will be closing (being sold) later this year.

This is a nice course to practice on as the price is right. Small greens, have to be accurate with your shots. The gentleman who I teamed up with said that they might close it down at the end of summer. They have first tee here and it is a good place for kids and adults both to learn. Hopefully they will keep it. The course is in good shape and worth playing.

First time playing this course. I like to play different courses and will travel a little to do it. Hadn’t heard anything good about this course but wanted to give it a try. The fairways were in good shape, sand traps were good, had sand, tee boxes average and greens were excellent.. Course has a nice layout and the price is right. I will play it again if I am in the area.

A great course to walk , just long enough to be relaxing and enjoyable. Plenty of par 4s and 5s to make things interesting, I had a blast and will go again

Modesto's Muni Golf Course is in an older neighborhood. The greens are in awesome shape, beautiful. Fun course to hop on and shoot 9 in 90 minutes a usually. Hardly ever lose a ball there.

I sort of grew up out here so this certainly isn't a review after just one round, although I did play last week.

- Course was built in 1939, so it is indicative of typical valley courses built in that era. Tree lined, small greens, two bunkers fronting the greens - short right and short left of the green
- A couple fun holes but generally a pretty simple, straightforward layout.
- Located right next to the local minor league baseball team, which can create a fun atmosphere if you are playing a twilight round.
- New carts!
- Friendly staff who let me bring my dog out
- Pro shop/clubhouse is a throwback
- Conditions are generally firm and fast, assuming it hasn't rained recently. Greens are healthy but can be a touch slow, but that's ok.

Overall, a great little muni, which I would encourage everyone to go try to play!

Muni is always a good challenge that will make one have good Ball striking to be successful

Course was good, fairways were cut to good driving specks, greens were a little fast but nice. Course is a great course for first time or anytime.

We were the second group out. Got there nice and early. Pace was great. However, the course allows people to start on hole 7, and they do not instruct golfers to allow players coming off of 6 to play through, so if the players themselves have no golf etiquette, you're out of luck. At hole 7 we got stuck behind slow golfers even though we were there way earlier than they were. Can't recommend this course until they fix this situation.

Looks like the rough was not cut in weeks. Some patches over a foot deep. Other than that, greens were nice. Fun little nine hole.

For only being a nine hole it's pretty good course for short game as well as long

thought this rate was wrong for 0 dollars, even called golf now and they called the course, but they let me and a friend play it anyway for just the on line booking fee. The total for both of us was $4.98. I'm pretty sure it was a mistake. This course is well worth the usually $12 or $14 for 9 hole walking rate.
