Greens sgtill showed signs of aeration
Lady at front desk was really cool and friendly.
A 2some skipped us and didn't bother asking us to play through. I would always give this course a chance because its a fun course to play
Nice
The course is good shape. Greens have been punched about 3 weeks ago, roll was still true. Pace of play was good after we joined the twosome in front of us. Staffwas very friendly.
Heron Bay
The greens have been aerated but in good shape, the fairways are coming along.
Dying course
The last 3 times out here have been worse and worse. Dead greens…. And I mean dead. No grass in the fairways but at least there is crabgrass to tee your ball up on! Super slow membership with no regard for fast or good golfers. Hard pass. Bye Heron Bay. You’ll be sold soon, again,
Nice day!
The greens are looking better. The fairways are still dormant and wet. It was cart path only today, so I got a lot of steps in.
Good Course With Some Nice Views
Was down south of Atlanta and grabbed a tee time in the afternoon. The clubhouse was nice and the staff was friendly. Tee boxes needed some work and 1/3 of the greens had spots that needed fixing. Bunkers had a very thin layer of sand. There were some holes that had great scenic views near the lake and you could tell that this was once a very nice course that could command a high green fee. I would play it again if I was down on the area.
Great Holes
I really like the course overall. It is in top-shape and plays like being on the PGA tour.
Not bad at all.
Greens were fast and I like that. The layout was good with some challenging shots. I definitely want to visit the course in season when I'm back in town.
Nice Course
I don’t ever remember having a bad experience at Heron Bay.. The overall course is still brown and in winter mode. But the greens roll nice. The lady at the front desk checking me in was very nice and made me feel welcomed.
Has a lot of potential
I've played heron bay several times over the years. Its definitely not in as great of shape as it once was but it's on par with most public courses at the moment. The layout is top tier and can be fun and challenging. I do feel it may be a bit over priced at the moment at $70ish. Some of the tee boxes and fairways and greens have their spots that need help. But the course is very playable. I think $50 is a good price for the course given the course conditions. Note that the clubhouse does not have any beer or any real food and beverage options which is a bummer. It's a fun layout that is worth playing for sure.
