Manatee County Golf Course

Played on a Monday afternoon using a “Hot Deal” rate. Joined a couple to make us a threesome. Started us on the back nine following a series of twosomes so pace of play for the first nine holes was slow. However, several twosomes playing in front of us did not make the turn so we were able to play quickly on our second nine..........which more than made up for a few long waits on our first nine. Condition of the greens was surprisingly (after reading some less-than-kind reviews for this course) good: not particularly fast but firm and true. Bunkers were excellent and all appeared to have been groomed earlier in the day. Fairways were in good shape with no problem areas or bare spots. Grass in fairways was not mowed as tight as some of higher end local courses so drives did not roll out as far as might be expected, but we were all able to play “ball down” and did not need to roll or move our balls even once during the entire round. Staff (both inside and outside) could not have been friendlier and each staff member made me feel welcome and appreciated. As to value for the price: this course, and my overall experience, was quite good. Would go back and next time take a few of my buddies.

I nothing special but good price for a good course.

We were a foursome. They sent out two twosomes in front of us. We waited on nearly every hole on the front nine. Plus there was a single behind us. We said he could play through but he said the twosome in front of us only wanted to play together. Makes no sense.

Checked in with very pleasant staffers Terri (inside) and Bill (carts & starter) as a single and was immediately sent out to join a twosome who were on the first tee. Finished round in just under four hours with no major holdups or slowdowns. Course was in "OK" condition with nice greens, somewhat spotty fairways and tee boxes, and good sand traps. Would play here again and recommend this course.

When the course is almost empty in the afternoons,why not do the smart thing and have a 9 hole rate ? We saw almost no one when we played yesterday at 3 pm.
The course could make a lot of money by encouraging 9 holers to play with reasonable greens fees.
Of course if your object is to not make money, keep running the course in the same old way.

I would play it soon before it goes to summer conditions. Playable now.

I’ve played Manatee County course numerous times. It was in good condition. They just didn’t manage how they sent groups out which ruined the whole pace of play. The 2 of us were pair with another pair which was completely fine but we were sent out after 3 straight twosomes. The last of which appeared to have never played before. Made for a marathon round which sucked.

Except for the bad smells from the water treatment plant, this course is perfect for simple enjoyment. Lots of birds and nice mature trees and exotic plants . No waiting time . No GPS in the carts but still OK. They ask far too much for a simple draft beer at the bar... and practice balls are not cheap. Everything else is very nice.

This public course is situated so conveniently to our home. It could be our home course! More water on some greens and fairways - but it's FL...
