Parkland Treasure

Great test of golf with fast greens and undulating fairways. Par 3s very challenging. Last 4 holes are brilliant finishing holes. Well worth a trip and great value.

A bit of a climb

While I played the course early and there was a lot of moisture the course was still enjoyable. I would say that it was a little hilly.

Enjoyable round

Good experience - head pro welcoming and friendly. Course itself was in good shape although some bunkers could do with a bit of work. Will definitely return.

Value for money: mid-week

The round only cost me €10, so excellent value. I played on a Tuesday at 06:45 before the green-keepers got out, so the greens were not in great shape. But with the dry weather and bird damage, I could see that they were struggling to keep them in good condition anyway. But I could see this being an excellent course if a couple of things were sorted out.
I called to the clubhouse the previous evening to collect a card and the person I met was very friendly, and accommodating of my early start the next day.
I love some of the views form the course. Some of the tee boxes need a bit of TLC. Fairways were in good shape, but a lot of slopes/hills: my ankles were in bits after the round. In general the course was forgiving with not too much rough, but enough of a challenge with tree lined fairways and blind tee shots.
The cleaning facilities had no air and with the trolly covered in grass, I was not happy: simple thing to fix.
But overall I enjoyed the course and will play it again if I am in the Cavan area.

Mature parkland, not long but a decent test.

Friendly course Pro, made us welcome and took some time to lay out the starting holes. Wet day but course not overly effected. Some short but tight par fours. Greens were OK but not yet their best. Some closing holes very samey, though layout generally has good variety. Could do with some additional signage for hole 11. Overall friendly with good pace of play and value, will come back and play again in summer.

Nice course Lovely layout

We played as a three ball and where looking to try a new course, cavan is only 40 minutes away from us so we chose it. Its a moderately hard course made harder by the absence of a course layout on the marking cards. when we arrived we enquired about buggies because why not to find out they were all in for repair and none were available. Avoid the driving range as it serves absolutely no purpose at all the mats are horrific and marked my clubs and the balls have a clunk to them as you hit them. Both should be replaced. the bar staff were lovely and sandwiches are a plenty. great setting for a round of gold with firm hard fairway little water but plenty of trees. The course suits a fade player.

very soggy

The only problem i had with this course was that it was like a sponge...very poor drainage...most balls were plugged and very difficult to locate..Im sure in summer months its great but would never play it again in winter ...
