To difficult
Too much water and on many bunkers. Good course for expert players. Too difficult and frustrating for the average golfer.
Decent Course with Challenges: A 3-Star Review of The Glades at Robina
recently played a round of golf at The Glades at Robina and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. Overall, I would give this course a 3-star rating based on a few key points.
Firstly, the staff at The Glades were very friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, and were always on hand to offer assistance and advice throughout our round.
However, I must say that I was disappointed with the condition of the greens on the course. No one seemed to be repairing divots, which left the surface feeling like we were putting on gravel rather than grass. This definitely affected our enjoyment of the game.
Another issue we encountered was the slow pace of play. Our game took a whopping 5 hours and 30 minutes to complete, which was frustrating and made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience.
On a more positive note, the course layout is definitely one of the highlights of The Glades. It's a fun and challenging course that will test your skills and keep you on your toes throughout your round.
The maintenance of the course itself was okay, but it was clear that the green sizes on some holes had been reduced. This made it difficult to get a true sense of the challenge posed by each hole, and left us feeling a bit let down.
Overall, I would say that The Glades at Robina is a decent course that's worth playing if you're in the area. While there are certainly some issues with the greens and pace of play, the course layout is still enjoyable and challenging. Just don't expect to be blown away by the quality of the course.
I enjoy playing this course usually but this time was incredibly slow, just shy of 5 hours for a round spoiled a very nice course and day weather wise
Awesome Place
The course was busy, however due to the quality of the staff organization and fellow golfers there was hardly any hold ups. As always, I bring interstate visitors to this course. Never disappoints!
Tee of time 11.04. The drinks cart passed while we were on the 1st tee and advised we wouldn’t see him again so to stock up.
We were on the 1st tee! Very strange you don’t have drinks carts operating all day on weekends.
A course for all levels
Fairways and Greens were well kept, forgiving fairways for the odd wayward drive a bonus. Greens are fast and challenging. A great course to test your skills with some gorgeous holes.
It was a busy day on the golf course so there was a bit of waiting between holes.
I was surprised of how very little parking there was available as well.
Altogether I really enjoyed the course and will definitely go back.
Nice golf course
Limited foods selections at the canteen best bring your own
Another Great Day
I’ve been playing the Glades for over 10 years and honestly the layout is super, the greens were true, great condition and value for money. The carts are awesome and the staff friendly.
Heaps of greens staff visible but no one seems to do any work on the bunkers. Let’s face it, you shouldn’t be in them, but if you are get ready for a mix of depth, quality and consistency. There are parts of the course management that the team could tidy up.
Fairways are awesome and greens are back to tries Glades Glory.
Glades
I’ve played Glades numerous times and always look forward to a round there.
Unfortunately, the course is in very poor condition at the moment. Bunkers have weeds and not much sand in them, greens were patchy, cart paths and bridges need maintenance.
Currently overpriced for the state the course is in.
A Refreshing Alternative to Royal Pines: Unleash Your Inner Shark at The Glades
As a frequent golfer at Royal Pines, I am always on the lookout for a course that offers a change of pace without compromising on quality. The Glades, designed by the legendary Greg Norman, has proven to be an excellent alternative for those seeking a fresh golfing experience.
Set amid picturesque surroundings, The Glades boasts an impressive 18-hole layout that seamlessly blends with the natural landscape. The course offers a thrilling challenge for golfers of all skill levels, thanks to the strategic placement of bunkers, water hazards, and undulating greens. Greg Norman's signature design elements are evident throughout the course, adding a touch of his unmistakable "Great White Shark" style.
The fairways at The Glades are immaculately maintained, providing a pristine playing surface that allows for optimal ball striking. Meanwhile, the greens are fast and true, rewarding well-judged putts while punishing those that are off the mark. The course is also well-drained, ensuring that it remains playable even during periods of heavy rainfall.
One of the standout holes is the par-5 7th, which offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding wetlands. This hole requires a precise tee shot to avoid the water hazards on the right side of the fairway, followed by an accurate approach to a well-guarded green. It is a testament to Norman‘s design.
I’d recommend anyone play here.
The Glades
I have played the Glades many times and always enjoy it. Yesterday was somewhat different. The drinks cart on the 9th advised we won't see him again for the rest of the round so grab what you can. I went to buy a sandwich and was advised he wanted to save them for the people who were playing earlier holes and that I should take a detour to the clubhouse before proceeding to the 10th tee, what the???
When we finished our round the same charming staff member was frantically emptying golf cart ice boxes and frantically parking carts away, he asked had I emptied my cart which I was in the process of doing so advised clearly not yet.
I can only assume his finishing time was fast approaching or had passed.
Why would you not have a drinks cart operating all day is one question and I certainly expect a better experience when paying $100 for a round of golf.
Very disappointing The Glades, I hope this feedback is acted on.
