Links in great condition and fun to play
Highly recommend this course for challenge, beauty, pace of play, and friendliness of staff!
Great day
Course was in great shape, greens were great. Really enjoyed the round. 4 hour round.
Tee boxes and fairways in great shape. Greens are rough and difficult to keep ball on track. Greens need to be rolled.
Not going back.
Disrespectful. Cart guy: “You better tip, you’re my last cart.” 20 minutes before carts need to be in. Several other carts are turned in after us. Unhappy with your job? Get a new one. Don’t ruin the time of those who pay to play because you’re unhappy with the time you finish your job.
Slow slow slow
We weren't told that the greens had been punched ahead of time and they were absolutely unplayable! Combined with the extremely slow pace with no ranger it was not a fun day...
Golf
I love this course has a good layout fairways were in good shape everything was nice other than the fact that I was not informed that they had been recently aerated did nothing but wipe beach stand off the end off of my clubs and everything else the whole course
Fun round
Course was in good condition despite the heat and lack of rain. Some of the greens we’re a little bumpy but not too bad. The fairways, tee boxes and everything else were good as usual. Great value compared to other courses that are over priced and not as nice.
Nice shape, nice course, nice amenities
Course was in very nice shape. Love the carts with gps and music. Staff friendly, nobody on the course. Just don’t love the layout—way too much target golf on front 9, little better on the back. Very narrow landing areas and insulation that doesn’t feed balls to good places to play approach from. Otherwise, zero complaints.
Summertime Golf & GolfNow
Taken from their yardage book, excerpts: " in the heart of Manatee County is a golf course that combines championship golf, outstanding course conditions and natural beauty.Generous landing areas off the tee, coupled with well bunkered undulating greens, weaving through wetlands and rich wildlife"
I've seen these similar words on other local yardage books, perhaps one company owns a few courses here all as prices shift in concert and other little inconsiquential tendencies have common threads. Courses once private, now semi private and with play decreasing, less money, the less the course can be maintained in these less populated towns.
Prices in December to March are almost triple what they are now (using GolfNow) in the sweltering midsummer southeast Florida heat. That application has really been such a wonderful tool for pricing, availability and instruction and I do recommend paying the $99.99 anually.
It'll be wise to have a GPS if it's your first time as there are quite a few blind shots - you want your target golf game with you as you're often playing for position. It's not the length that will be the issue - it's rather narrow with smaller landing areas than I'm accustomed to in this area.
3 stars, should be more
I had a great time playing this course. Wish when I checked in, they would have at least gave
a heads up the greens were recently punched. Then when I went out to the starter he didn’t listen to a word I said and asked if I was paired with anyone. I said not in the pro shop but I am waiting on my two friends who I booked the tee time with ( I arrive early as I don’t like to rush, my friends don’t). About 5 minutes later he came up to me and asked if I was ready. I said for what, my tee time is at 1020, mind you it was 945 and I was just minding my business. He didn’t like that response and said I don’t do things like that. I said like what, I am waiting on the other twosome for my group. He threw his hands up and walked away. Not sure why, I said I told you the names of the twosome I was playing with. He the Went to another group and said I didn’t t know what I was doing or something (I’m 42 years old played golf since 10 and was in the military for 22 years I think I’m ok). Nonetheless my friend arrived and we teed off at 1020. This is all first world problems just didn’t know why he was so upset as I told him I am with a group and I was the third golfer. Didn’t know if there would be a 4th and I think that’s what he didn’t pay attention to. Course was in great condition, greens were pretty bad but I understand after having little rain lately.
Nice public option
Great value , nice layout their was some same on the greens but definitely worth checking out
Nice Day Out.
Course was in very good shape considering it poured a few hours earlier. Greens were recently aerated but balls seemed to roll fairly true. The course is not easy especially from the back tee boxes. but it’s an interesting layout with lots of water that shouldn’t cause too much trouble. Had an enjoyable day.
Let customers know
When we got to the first green we realized they had just been punched and sanded. First time we ever knew anything about it. Seems wrong because they should let you know when you are making your time that they're greens suck at the moment
