Majestic Oaks at Lake Lawn Resort
About
Lake Lawn Resort spans across two miles of shoreline along Delavan Lake. The resort was founded in 1878, making it one of Wisconsin's oldest leisure destinations. Its proximity to both Chicago and Milwaukee has made it very popular. The championship golf course was not added until 1921, but it is still one of the area's oldest. It has a traditional layout that was revamped in 1990 but the original character was carefully preserved. The course is known for the stately oaks that are abundant throughout the course. The mature trees frame the holes and demand accuracy as well as creative shot-making. There are also deep sand bunkers strategically placed along Lake Lawn Resort's greensides. The greens themselves are quite tricky and varied too. Some have subtle but tough undulations while others are multi-tiered.

More Tee Boxes Needed
The layout was recently reconfigured to now play the outer 9 then finish on the inner 9, much like a Scottish links course. The change causes a bit of confusion as a few cart paths go from asphalt to gravel, routing you through the new configuration. In fact, one tee box is used for 2 different fairways.
Speaking of tee boxes, there are only 3, which is why I rated the course as Extremely Challenging. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT - five tee boxes would make rounds more enjoyable for those of the shorter drive persuasion by giving them the chance at reaching a 400+ par 4 or 500+ par 5 in regulation.
Currently the course plays a little slow - slow fairways and slow greens.
While I do recommend this course to others it is with the caveat that you'll need to stripe them long to achieve anywhere near par.
Enjoyed the course
Nice course conditions. Play was slow. Pretty much “wide open” no worries about losing a ball if not hitting it straight. Thought it seemed a little “pricey”. Had a good time.
Golf lover
We really enjoy playing this course. The fairways are beautiful to play from. The greens require positioning approaches as there are many with multiple levels. I would prefer if they were a little faster.
There are some changes in progress so some alternate tees are used.
Course in progress
Although there are changes in progress, the course is in good condition and the pace of play was good.
Fun Outing
The course is excellent condition. The rerouting of the course was a bit confusing our first round, just fine the 2nd round. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Over Priced
I have played almost every course in the area, and for the amount they are charging, it is not worth the round. The green complex is small and were rolling very slow.
Confused with all the two person groups (me included) and singles allowed out.
The actual scorecard and the in-cart GPS were not in alignment on a few holes. I believe they have shuffled the order and it is confusing driving through the course.
For the day as well, there wasnt a drink cart out on the course for a Saturday round.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your round and understand your frustration. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
