Just a place to know it around
Just moved to the area and saw this on the side of the road, Fairways need help, Greens need help, Bunkers need Sand.. Over all for a place to go knock a few balls around it was worth the $22.00 of 18 with a cart...
New owners, working on it as fast as they can, just a lot to do.. Hope in 6 to 12 months it will be in better shape, I have played it a couple of time and nice to get out and play 18 holes in 2 hrs... I had a good time, don't expect much in quality, yet, I hope it is coming soon though...
Stay Away Unless You Have Nowhere Else To Go !!
Have lived here off and on for many years and haven't played (or heard anything about) until now. Can't say I was too disappointed as I had low expectations. It is a "mom/pop operation" that must be helping owners with retirement expenses. Cow pasture golf at its finest ! Except $14 thru golfnow is overcharging IMO. Terrible greens, bunkers, and fairways. Can grown better greens in my yard. Tee boxes almost directly in front of trees and beside a major highway - not good for cars ! No visible signs of serious maintenance or attempts to improve. Will not go back.
Traditional course.
The greens have deteriorated and are a real downer. That said, the staff is working diligently to fix problems they inherited. I've played this course many times over the past 40 years and still enjoy it.
Not an accurate representation of what course was like
The photos listed on golf nows site are not an accurate representation of what the course is really like. I honestly would have been better golfing in a cow pasture, atleast the grass would have been shorter & I could have putted without my ball jumping all over the place. The fairways are unmowed & full of weeds. We honestly couldn't tell the difference between the fairway or the rough & the greens are a joke. Between the greens not being cut, having mole tunnels & ant hills all over, dead spots & more sand on them than in the sand traps I don't know which was worse. The clubhouse was literally a shack with trashed couches in it for seating with nothing to offer for anyone who wants to buy anything to eat or drink, so bring your own boys. At the end of my round when it was after 7PM & we were the last golfers on the course the owner had the guts to approach me to tell me he witnessed me not raking 3 sand traps that I had been in. I told him in each trap that my ball was either in footprints left by another golfer or a huge hole left by another golfer with the rake. He told me that he pays a guy $10/hr to rake the sandtraps every morning so the course is in good shape. I almost laughed in his face. This owner should spend some of his spare time taking care of the course by maintaining some of the little things that I have pointed out instead of scolding people as they vacate the premises such as the way he did to me. The least he could have done is take $5 of the $36 I paid for 2 tee times & mow the tall grass/weeds in the fairways. Serious work needs to be done to this course.
Bad
Worst course I ever played. Everything about it is bad.
Great Pratice
Looking for a place to practice hitting the ball. This is it. Fairways are second cut, greens are well............mostly green, that's about it. The staff are super friendly and the price (18-22) is right for practicing your hitting and pitching, but not putting.
fun course
fun course. needs grass cut. easy to get on and tempo of play was good. good course to practice your game without being hurried.
Great for a quick nine.
Want to get in a quick nine for less than $12 with a cart. Without hazards this wide open course also makes for a great practice course since it is rarely that busy so a second or third shot is frequently possible.
I have played on a lot worst. For the spur of the moment or for a serious practice round this course works for the money.
If you are already that good you will not be moved by this course. Pay more else where for their challenges.
PS: Can get really wet. The greens are also very slow.
